迦陵梦萦No rice, no breakfast. Starch is good (Part 2)
A bowl of guagua opened my taste buds and I started to look for time-honored brands.
Master Wu and Changji are in the same alley, each with its own characteristics.
Master Wu's is known for its dough, rich sesame paste with spicy oil from the northwest, golden and warm dough, chewy and soft, compared to Lanzhou's Gaodan Niangpi, I prefer it.
Almond tea is actually salty, I can't enjoy it.
Guagua is a food with roots, you can't find it outside Tianshui.

I recently went to Tianshui with some friends. This hidden gem of a city in southeastern Longdong truly amazed me! Today, I'm sharing my complete guide to food, drinks, and fun with everyone. I hope you'll have a blast too! 🌞 Morning Market: Breakfast in Yusheng Lane 📍 Xiaowu Pastry ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We went to Xiaowu Pastry specifically. The rich aroma of baked pastries hit us before we even walked in! They have so many varieties. We ordered the sweet ones, which were layered and crispy, and they were incredibly crumbly! The rose-filled ones are my favorite; the floral fragrance is naturally sweet and refreshing, not at all cloying. I bought a few boxes as souvenirs, and my family raved about their deliciousness when we got home! 📍 Master Wu's Ranran Guagua ⭐⭐⭐ I was greeted by that unique aroma before I even reached the door. Their Guagua is incredibly chewy, and the chili sauce is infused with over a dozen spices, making it fragrant without being overpowering. It might be a little strange the first time, but the dense yet chewy texture is truly captivating. 📍 Ye Ji Apricot Tea (Must Go Sweet!) ⭐⭐⭐⭐ After a spicy Gua Gua, a bowl of warm apricot tea is perfect! I ordered the sweet version, which had a particularly rich almond aroma, a smooth and delicate taste, and just the right amount of sweetness without being overpowering. I personally have a salty palate and can't handle it. 🚶♀️ Morning: City Tour 📍 Fuxi Temple As a key birthplace of Chinese civilization, Fuxi Temple is a must-see! Walking through the courtyard lined with towering ancient cypresses, the richness of history washes over you. The temple's architecture is also exquisite, and every photo is captivating. 🍵 Noon: Cooling Milk Tea 📍 Fangha Milk Tea (near Fuxi Temple) After visiting Fuxi Temple, I felt thirsty, so I headed straight to Fangha! Their sweet glutinous rice milk tea was a must-try; it was a generous cup and incredibly satisfying! The glutinous rice had a springy texture and a naturally sweet aroma, which perfectly complemented the milk tea. We also ordered a green tea base, which was even more refreshing and thirst-quenching. 🌳 Afternoon: Quiet Mountain Forest 📍 Yuquan Temple After lunch, we went to Yuquan Temple, which is even more tranquil and elegant than Fuxi Temple. As we slowly ascended the stone steps, the ancient trees on either side shaded the sky, making it incredibly cool. The most amazing thing was the "braided cypress" tree, whose trunk truly resembled a braid! Standing inside the temple, overlooking Tianshui city, the view was incredible, and the breeze was soothing. 💡 Tips: 1. Eat breakfast early: The breakfast shops in Yusheng Lane are very popular, so it's recommended to arrive before 8:00 PM to avoid a line. 2. Wear comfortable shoes: Both Fuxi Temple and Yuquan Temple require some walking, so comfortable shoes are essential. After a day of exploring and dining, I was truly captivated by the charm of this city and its delicious food! If you're planning to visit Tianshui, I'd definitely recommend following this guide; you won't be disappointed. Feel free to leave any questions in the comments section, and I'll get back to you!
Tianshui | A few recommendations for a carb paradise‼ ️ 1. Master Wu's Guagua Noodles (Branch in the alley next to the Xili Broadcom Hotel) 🕒6:30-14:00 (Go early!) The aroma of spicy oil and chili sauce hits you as soon as you enter. The noodles are super chewy, and the guagua with the secret sauce is incredible! The peanut buns are super delicious 😋 and the poached egg 🥚 is amazing. The owners are so kind. Even though the poached egg had a crack in the white, they gave me an extra yolk [Grin]. 2. He Ji's Fragrant Roujiamo (Green Market Main Branch) 📍East Gate of Green Market, Qinzhou District 🕒9:00-19:00 The freshly baked buns are so crispy they're almost falling apart! The bacon, simmered in a rich broth, is a perfect balance of fat and lean, bursting with juice without being greasy. Add green peppers and minced garlic for a unique twist! The shop isn't big, but it's packed with life. The sound of the owner chopping meat is so soothing! 🤤 My friend heard our kids love meat, so she took us there. It's said to be a time-honored shop in Tianshui that's been around for over 40 years. [ThumbsUp] The braised meat looks so delicious! My kids ordered pig's trotters, pig's head, pig's tail, and pig intestines. I ordered a bowl of vegetarian flatbread (super delicious), and my friend had jiangshui noodles. Also, a tip: eat roujiamo while it's hot; the skin gets tough if it gets cold. 3. Malatang, Tianshui Ancient City We ate at a Malatang place called Huo La La in the ancient city. It's about 50 meters to the right of the entrance to the ancient city. There are also several other places recommended by locals near the entrance to the ancient city. Honestly, they're all delicious! 😋 There's no need to go to the popular ones; the lines are too long. If you insist on going to this popular place, make sure you miss meal times, otherwise you'll often end up waiting in line for 2-3 hours. [CheerUp] 4. Malong Lamb in Jingyuan, Maiji District. Recommended for lamb lovers. The special hand-pulled lamb and stir-fried lamb both start at 1.5 jin (approximately 1.5 kg) and are delicious when mixed with noodles. [Heart] 5. Various specialty pancakes. We had breakfast in the alley across from the Tianshui Xili Broadcom Hotel. The potato-filled pan-fried buns are recommended for breakfast. We ordered them three times, each 1.5 yuan. They were delicious. 😋 There was also a long line at the rolled noodle shop. There's also meatball sandwiches, lard-fried buns, light oil-fried buns, yellow steamed buns, fried sesame buns, peanut cakes, fried dough rings, and more, all opening around 5:30 AM. There's also a morning market at the entrance of the alley, selling fruits and vegetables. 6. In Tianshui, you can enjoy stomach-nourishing sea buckthorn juice, jiangshui yogurt, carrot juice, apricot peel tea, and sweet embryos—my favorite [Grin]. There's also Yuquan water from Yuquanyuan, 3 yuan a bottle [Victory]. 7. Tianshui's beef ramen is also delicious, with chewy noodles and a rich broth. The shredded chicken noodles look ordinary, but they're incredibly delicious [ThumbsUp]. There's also Tianshui vegetarian flatbread. I had them at He Ji Pian Pian Xiang, and they were topped with meat. As someone who doesn't usually eat soup, I became addicted to it in Tianshui [Joyful]. Reminder: 1. If you're visiting Tianshui during the summer, be sure to book your Maijishan Grottoes tickets in advance. Drive to the old Maijishan Visitor Center before 7:30 AM to avoid waiting in line under the scorching sun. 2. For guagua noodles, be sure to go early. Changji and Master Wu's are sold out if you arrive late. [Grin] Seeing this, you're definitely tempted to come. 💗 So, take action! Gansu | Tianshui A day alone in Tianshui city walk My first impression of Tianshui is: it is a clean and welcoming city As soon as I got off the train, someone helped me with directions and luggage storage. The owner of the storage was also very nice. Then every street was clean and there was no garbage #Gansu Tourism #Gansu Tianshui Spicy Hotpot #Gansu Tianshui #Tianshui Tourism In order to eat the popular spicy hotpot recently, I stayed in Tianshui for a day. The chili is very fragrant. It tasted good when I first ate it, but it became spicier and spicier. It’s a bit discouraging for people with light tastes. If you are a heavy taster, you will definitely like the food here~
