We arrived a bit late and only inquired about ticket exchange and how to use the Yaoke Pass. If you don't visit Qingyan Ancient Town that day, you should be able to enter Huangguoshu around 3:30 PM and enjoy the attractions when it's less crowded. There are many local restaurants of all sizes around the scenic area. I selected the one that ranked first on an online app and found it not far away. The restaurant is located halfway up the slope at a T-junction perpendicular to the scenic area parking lot. There are a few parking spaces at the entrance, but they were all full. We walked about 300 meters up the slope to find a parking space. By around 6:00 PM, both floors of the restaurant were already full. It took about 15 minutes to get a number and get a table at the entrance. We ordered sour soup fish and a few side dishes. When we were about to order pilaf rice, the waiter kindly reminded us that we had ordered too much and couldn't finish it all. The next day, we returned for the restaurant's signature Buyi pilaf rice. The waiter enthusiastically taught us how to make the local rice balls and took photos for our family. For ordering, I recommend choosing fish or pilaf rice as a main course. You can always refill the rice for free and customize it to your taste. Try the wild ginseng, stir-fried yellow beef, or fried dried fish. The owner and his wife are very welcoming and friendly. It's a great choice for a delicious local meal after a day of sightseeing.
