We came here twice during our stay, and honestly, the fish was the reason. Cooked just right, flaky, not dry. Portion size was decent for the price, which is rare around here. Service was friendly, no complaints. Second visit was just as good as the first. Wouldn't mind going back if we're in the area again.

The free starter salad was a nice touch. Steak was juicy and well-seasoned, fries were good too. Gets busy though, so book ahead if you can.

The staff actually remembers you when you come back—that's rare. Food was solid, nothing fancy, but the friendly service made it easy to relax.

Came here three times. Burgers were solid, lamb rack was decent too. The all-you-can-eat schnitzel day is the real deal. Fireplace inside makes it cozy. Food's good, nothing fancy but does the job.

The pulled pork burger was solid and the portion felt right for the price. Veggie options were decent too. Staff friendly enough, though it got a bit busy. Fine for a casual bite.

The beer list is solid and the place has that proper old-school brown café feel. Had the shrimp croquettes with an espresso — both did the job. Staff left us alone until we needed them, which I appreciated. Only thing is the seating near the window is a bit cramped, but fine for a quick stop.

The croissants are always warm and really good. Just a heads up, the big cappuccino comes in a latte glass and tastes more like plain coffee. Still, I left happy.

The nachos are still my go-to here. 13.5 bucks and a solid pile of them every time. Staff's been on point lately too.

The Turkish eggs were seriously good. That garlic yogurt with the runny yolk just worked. I kept dipping bread in it until nothing was left. Place was a bit busy but whatever. Would come back just for that dish.

Stopped by with our dog for a hot drink and they were super welcoming. Got a cappuccino, it was solid. Cozy spot to warm up, especially on a chilly day. Wouldn't mind coming back if we're in the area again.

The steak was cooked exactly how I asked. New Year's Eve menu had solid burgers too. Online menu in multiple languages saved me some hassle.

We popped in a few times during the week. Currywurst was solid, schnitzel crispy, and the surf and turf surprisingly fresh. Staff stayed friendly even when it got packed. Only thing, service slows down a bit when they're busy, but that's understandable. Good spot if you're in the area.

We finally tried this place after coming to the island for years. The portions are really generous for the price, which I appreciated. Staff were friendly and made it feel easy, you know? Just a relaxed spot to sit and eat without any fuss. Only thing was it got a bit busy later, but that's fine. Solid choice.

Had our anniversary lunch here last week. The truffle pasta was properly al dente, sauce had real depth. Bruschetta came out warm, nice char on the bread. Panna cotta was silky, not too sweet. Service was quick even though the place was packed. Only thing - tables are a bit close together, but that's typical for these small Italian spots.

The lunch deal here is solid for the price—savory and sweet bites plus a smoothie and coffee. Everything tasted fresh. I paired mine with a glass of their house red, which worked nicely with the sweeter dishes. Only downside: the wait. It got pretty busy around noon, so come early if you're in a hurry.

Been coming here for a while now. Jeffery still remembers my usual order, that’s why I keep coming back. Beer suggestion was on point again, not too heavy for a Tuesday night. Place gets busy but he handles it fine. Just wish they’d open the back windows when it’s warm, gets a bit stuffy.

Great wine list to match the pasta—our sommelier picked a nice Chianti that worked well. The carbonara was solid, though the place got a bit loud later. Still, a good spot for an easy Italian fix. 🍷

Food's decent but prices are a bit steep for what you get. The terrace is nice though, good spot when the weather cooperates.

Wonderful restaurant!!! The chef's menu is superb...can chose between 2-5 courses. We had 3 courses...next time I will opt for 5 courses. Everything is prepared and presented with great care and attention to detail. Brilliant flavours!! The service is IMPECCABLE!!! ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!! Our server made us feel that we were the only one's in the restaurant...even though it was quite busy. Very friendly, attentive, and happy. Thank you for the wonderful service!!! The atmosphere of the restaurant is so very warm, cozy, and elegant. Always come to Basserie SPH when visiting, and never disappointed. Can't wait to come back. Thank you for a nice evening!!

The lunch set at XO is a nice twist on the usual 12-uurtje—Tom kha kai soup, Caesar salad, and a small burger were all fresh and flavorful. Service was quick and friendly.

Stopped by for lunch — the space used to be a blacksmith shop, you can feel it in the beams. I had the grilled fish with greens, everything tasted properly fresh. Not the cheapest place, but the ingredients felt thoughtfully sourced. Service was friendly without hovering. I'd come back for the salad alone, honestly.

The location really is the selling point here—right by the beach and pool, kids had plenty of room to run around. Food was decent, nothing fancy, but fine for a casual lunch. Service was quick, which I appreciated. Prices though, ouch. You're definitely paying for the spot. I'd come back for the setting, not the food.

Been coming here for a while now. The food’s always clean and tasty, never had a bad meal. Staff’s friendly too, though the back entrance for wheelchair access can be a bit tricky, might need someone to help. Still, it’s consistent, and that’s why I keep coming back.

Very nice place with tasty tapas with nice quantity and quality. The service was very professional and friendly, staff made you feel home

The waffles with toppings on the side were such a smart move—everything stayed crispy. Nice quiet spot in the middle of the city.

The ambient was really well decorated and the food was delicious. Prices were also really good for what we got, so I was very happy with that. I did with the QR Code menu had more information about the food though. But I found the information on the regular menu though, so that was not a problem. Overall experience was great, highly recommend it.

The restaurant is very cosy, the food is great, with very good presentation and taste! The staff is very kind and attentive. We highly recommend it!

Good tapas selection, authentic Spanish flavors. Service was attentive without hovering. Decent spot for a quick business lunch.

Quiet terrace out back is the real selling point—nice to sit there without street noise. Food was solid, prices fair. Good spot if you're in Esens.
