Our table was for 7pm so we ended up having a bit of a wait and to make an alternative choice for mains as ours was sold out. Well kept cellar - excellent beers and plenty of cocktails available. From the moment I walked in, the warm atmosphere and gentle buzz of conversation made me feel right at home. The staff were lovely and guided my wife and I to a cozy corner overlooking the memorial. We had a cheese scone and a fruit tart to share and for drinks we had a hot chocolate and a latte. The scone was heavenly scones, and the tart was fresh and tasty, it looked almost too good to eat. dswIn the evening, the ancient city of York was shrouded in a gentle twilight. I strolled along the stone brick path and accidentally encountered Marzano Italian Grill at the corner of Loddle Lane. The warm yellow light sprinkled on the stone slab through the floor-to-ceiling windows, and the aroma of roasted garlic bread and fresh basil floated in the air, making people unconsciously push open the retro wooden door.
The interior of the restaurant is a typical Italian bistro style. Old photos of Tuscan scenery are hung on the red brick walls, and the sound of frying pans can be heard from the open kitchen. The waiter recommended the signature charcoal grilled octopus with lemon vinaigrette, paired with a glass of Chianti red wine - it was indeed delicious and unforgettable. The main course of black truffle cream pasta was full of weight, and the handmade wide noodles were just chewy. The price was about 18 pounds, which is a cost-effective choice in York. Remember to book a window seat in advance, especially on weekends after 7 pm, when you often have to wait for a seat.

The BBQ restaurant Bulgogi Grill I ate before is really not worth it. Not only is it expensive, but it is also not filling. In comparison, this restaurant is much better! The taste is authentic, cheap, and the bowl is large. The boss is also very enthusiastic! He is a very cute Korean uncle. When he heard that it was my birthday, he immediately gave me a bottle of peach sparkling wine. After the meal, he also gave us a pot of plum tea that was sour and sweet and very delicious. In fact, they have a lot of dishes to choose from. Not only Korean dishes, but also a few Japanese dishes. Recently, they have also introduced BBQ.
