We had the greatest meal and dining experience here on our last night in Groningen.  Our food was terrific and the staff was amazing.  Highly recommend!

The place looks great inside, staff were friendly enough. But honestly the food was kinda bland. Presentation was nice though, just didn&#39;t match the taste. Prices are fair for the area. Maybe they&#39;re going for subtle flavors, just not my thing. I&#39;d come back for a drink maybe, not sure about a full meal.

Tried their delivery tasting menu last night. Honestly the packaging was way better than I expected, everything labeled so I knew what to do. The instructions were clear and it all came together nicely. Would love to actually sit in the restaurant sometime, but this was a solid option for a lazy evening at home.

The fish was good but honestly the curry coleslaw stole the show. Portions are generous and you get plenty of sides, so the price feels fair. We booked one of the tents which was fun, though the bar area seemed more lively. Service was attentive without hovering&mdash;they checked in just enough. Would come back for that slaw alone.

Amazing ambience, very gezellig and cosy places to sit. Food was good, portions of some dishes on the smaller side but still a good price-quality level. Highly recommend!

Had our anniversary lunch here last week. The truffle pasta was properly al dente, sauce had real depth. Bruschetta came out warm, nice char on the bread. Panna cotta was silky, not too sweet. Service was quick even though the place was packed. Only thing - tables are a bit close together, but that&#39;s typical for these small Italian spots.

The lunch deal here is solid for the price&mdash;savory and sweet bites plus a smoothie and coffee. Everything tasted fresh. I paired mine with a glass of their house red, which worked nicely with the sweeter dishes. Only downside: the wait. It got pretty busy around noon, so come early if you&#39;re in a hurry.

Been coming here for a while now. Jeffery still remembers my usual order, that&rsquo;s why I keep coming back. Beer suggestion was on point again, not too heavy for a Tuesday night. Place gets busy but he handles it fine. Just wish they&rsquo;d open the back windows when it&rsquo;s warm, gets a bit stuffy.

Great wine list to match the pasta&mdash;our sommelier picked a nice Chianti that worked well. The carbonara was solid, though the place got a bit loud later. Still, a good spot for an easy Italian fix. 🍷

Wonderful restaurant!!! The chef&#39;s menu is superb...can chose between 2-5 courses. We had 3 courses...next time I will opt for 5 courses. Everything is prepared and presented with great care and attention to detail. Brilliant flavours!! The service is IMPECCABLE!!! ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!! Our server made us feel that we were the only one&#39;s in the restaurant...even though it was quite busy. Very friendly, attentive, and happy. Thank you for the wonderful service!!! The atmosphere of the restaurant is so very warm, cozy, and elegant. Always come to Basserie SPH when visiting, and never disappointed. Can&#39;t wait to come back. Thank you for a nice evening!!

Decent spot not far from the center. Had the vegetarian pasta for &euro;12.50, pretty good and filling. Interior&rsquo;s got its own thing going on, unlike most places in Groningen.

Went for the tasting menu, watched the chefs right in front of us. Open kitchen is pretty cool. Food was solid, though pacing felt a bit slow. Nice calm spot.

The lunch set at XO is a nice twist on the usual 12-uurtje&mdash;Tom kha kai soup, Caesar salad, and a small burger were all fresh and flavorful. Service was quick and friendly.

Food was pretty good overall, well put together. Service fine, maybe a bit slow at times, but I&rsquo;d go back.

The beer list is solid and the place has that proper old-school brown caf&eacute; feel. Had the shrimp croquettes with an espresso &mdash; both did the job. Staff left us alone until we needed them, which I appreciated. Only thing is the seating near the window is a bit cramped, but fine for a quick stop.

Came here with five others on a Tuesday night. Service was smooth, no long waits between courses. I had the ribeye, cooked properly, decent seasoning. Others seemed happy with their picks too. Prices felt fair for what you got. Not a mind-blowing dinner, but a solid choice if you&#39;re in the area.

The croissants are always warm and really good. Just a heads up, the big cappuccino comes in a latte glass and tastes more like plain coffee. Still, I left happy.

The nachos are still my go-to here. 13.5 bucks and a solid pile of them every time. Staff&#39;s been on point lately too.

The Turkish eggs were seriously good. That garlic yogurt with the runny yolk just worked. I kept dipping bread in it until nothing was left. Place was a bit busy but whatever. Would come back just for that dish.
