The katsu curry here is the main thing. The pork cutlet is crispy on the outside, stays juicy inside. The curry sauce has a deep, savory flavor, not too sweet. Good portion for the price. A solid, no-fuss meal.

The owner cooks each dish to order right in front of you. The tonkatsu was perfectly crispy, not greasy at all. The miso soup had a deep, savory flavor. That personal touch makes a difference.

Loved the cozy vibe here! Came with friends and the oden broth was so mild and comforting. The owner was super friendly too, which made our little catch-up feel even nicer. Perfect spot for a relaxed chat.

The atmosphere in the restaurant is very relaxing, making it a great place to unwind. The fruit platter was generous and delicious, and the staff were exceptionally friendly.

Restaurant in ANA Crowne Plaza KANAZAWA by IHG

Shogyotei is a gem in Kanazawa, offering a fantastic Kaiseki experience. Each course was unique and flavorful, making it a memorable dining occasion. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy traditional Japanese cuisine.

Came in pretty late, but the staff was so chill and attentive. They didn't rush us at all, just made sure we had everything. Felt like hanging out at a friend's place. Really nice vibe to end the night.

The fried pig's brain and onion had a texture I wasn't expecting, almost like creamy cod roe. The aroma was really pleasant. Honestly, it was surprisingly good!

The menu here is way more interesting than the usual spots in my neighborhood. I tried the grilled mackerel with yuzu kosho – the fish was cooked just right, skin super crispy. A nice change of pace.

The pancakes were so light and airy. I liked that they weren't too sweet. The server suggested a light, sparkling white wine with them, and it was a surprisingly good pairing. Made for a relaxed Sunday morning.

The staff were really nice. They cleared our plates quickly and even helped translate the menu for us. Made ordering a lot easier.

The Merlot was lovely, but I really appreciated the freshness of the ingredients in my salad. The greens were crisp and the vinaigrette was light, just what I look for. A simple, honest meal.

Good selection of wines to pair with the game dishes. Service was a bit slow, but that's fine for a relaxed evening.

Been coming here for years. The lunch mini-kaiseki is still a solid deal at ~¥3000. Always love the ochazuke at the end.

Popped in for a quick weekday lunch, no wait at all. The set let me try two curries, both gluten-free. The green curry was a bit mild for me, but it worked well with a crisp lager. Solid spot for a casual bite.

The fried chicken portion was huge, way more than I expected. Had it with a hot yuzu tea which really hit the spot on a chilly evening.

The manager Marco has a way of making you feel genuinely looked after. His warmth and professionalism set the whole tone for the evening. Staff were all so attentive, never letting our glasses sit empty. A really nice touch.

The lunch set was just over 4,000 yen. I really appreciated watching the meat being grilled and hearing about the ingredients. The focus on freshness was clear. A satisfying meal.

The pickled strawberries and pistachio cream dessert was a standout. Really interesting combination.

The multi-course menu felt generous. A French technique, but the ingredients were so local, so Japanese. That quiet focus on the produce itself, it stayed with me.

Came in for a quick bite and the pizza was a nice surprise. Really crispy crust, just how I like it. Went great with their IPA. The place is big and has a lot of tables, good for groups.

Had a lovely dinner here with friends. The Kaga dishes were so pretty, almost too pretty to eat! Staff explained each course which was nice. A bit on the pricier side, but perfect for a special girls' night out.

As someone who watches what I drink, finding a place with a fully gluten-free menu is a relief. The staff really knew their stuff when I asked about pairing options. The wine list had some interesting local choices that worked well with my vegan dish.

Chef was friendly. The soba noodles at the end of the course were a bit light for the price, though. I was still a little hungry after. Everything else was fine.

Tsubajin offers an exquisite kaiseki experience that beautifully showcases the seasons. The attention to detail in both the food and service is remarkable, making it a must-visit for anyone in Kanazawa.

A nice final dinner. The chef came out to prepare the seabass hot pot himself. The fish was tender, broth was decent. You could tell he took pride in it. A bit pricey, but a fine way to end the trip.

The Noto beef croquette is the thing here. The beef inside is so tender and rich, with a really crispy panko crust. I just had it with the udon, which was fine, but the croquette is what you come for.
