Been here twice now. The food's really good. Friday evenings are packed, but Saturday mornings are much more relaxed.

Been coming here for years, and the food's always spot on. My go-to is the lamb curry – it's got this deep, rich flavour that hits the spot every time. Could maybe be a touch spicier for my taste, but honestly, that's just me. It's the consistency that keeps me coming back.

Been ordering takeaway here for ages. The portions are always generous, packed with meat and veggies.

The fish platter was generous and fresh, went perfectly with the viognier/grenache we ordered. The espresso was a bit weak for my taste, but that's a small thing. Really liked the buzz in the room.

Service was friendly and efficient, our food arrived in good time. The staff made us feel welcome without being overbearing. A comfortable spot for a relaxed meal.

Popped in for a quick bite. Got the spiced potato wedges - they were incredible, honestly. Sticky toffee pudding was a solid finish. Menu's veggie/vegan friendly which is handy. Quick service, got me in and out.

Service was spot on. Friendly but not hovering, just the right amount of attention. Felt genuinely welcome as soon as we sat down. Made the whole thing relaxed.

Been coming here for years. The biryani is always spot on - fragrant rice, tender meat, the whole deal. It's the one thing I know I can count on every single time. Never lets me down.

The pepperoni and garlic chicken slices are pretty good. They're a solid choice for a quick lunch, honestly better than some pizzas I've had at proper restaurants. Decent value for the price.

Great for a big group. The staff were really on it, and they sorted a gluten-free request easily. The wine list had some nice options to go with the hearty food.

Arts Bar. Cosy with the fire going. Happy hour cocktails were a treat. Sat on the terrace, view of Bowness was lovely. Staff friendly. Solid spot.

The carbonara had a lovely, rich flavour. I was pleased to see they used a good quality pancetta and the egg yolk was perfectly fresh. My partner really enjoyed it. The portion was just right for us.

Stopped in after a Sunday walk. Feels like a proper local pub, not a tourist trap. The portions were huge for the price! My fish and chips was a proper plateful.

The Sunday roast is a decent one. The Yorkshire puddings were good, properly risen and not too doughy. Veg were cooked right, not mushy. It's a reliable classic.

The curry was so good, spicy and tasty. Would definitely go again if we're back in Ambleside.

The refillable drinks are a lifesaver for a long catch-up with friends. The cookie s'mores were a great sweet finish too.

Stayed for a couple of nights. The room was clean and comfortable. The lounge area attached to it was a nice surprise, quite spacious. It was fine for a short stay, though the decor felt a bit dated.

The fish was lovely and fresh. Skin had a nice crisp. I asked for the tagliatelle without the chillies, and the sauce was still warm and flavourful. Appreciated that they could adjust it easily.

Portions are huge for what you pay, pretty standard around here. Got the steak and chips, couldn't finish it all. Good value, no question.

Nice, cosy pub after a long hike. The steak and ale pie was the highlight for me – proper flaky pastry and the beef was really tender. The mash was creamy too. Staff were lovely and quick. Just what we needed.

Been coming here for years. The food's always spot on - simple, but they get the flavours right. It's just a proper, no-fuss local pub.

Service was prompt and attentive. The prawn starter was decent but portion felt a bit small for the price. Mains were generous and well-prepared. Efficient for a business lunch.
