Welcoming staff. Had an issue with my steak being underdone, but the chef sorted it quickly. The replacement was spot on. Burger was solid too, thick and good quality.

Booked a table for a big group and they had us seated quickly, no fuss. The New York burger was spot on, really juicy. Caramel apple pudding with custard was a nice finish. It's a lively spot but didn't feel too packed.

Fish and chips are solid here. Batter's light and crispy, fish tastes fresh. Chips are decent. It's my go-to when I'm in the area and just want something reliable.

Nice spot by the clock tower and beach. Sat outside under the canopy. The coffee was good, but the croissant was a bit dry. Decent place for a quick stop.

Been coming here for years. It’s always packed, but the food never lets you down. Had the fish and chips again last night – crispy batter, proper chips. That’s why I keep coming back.

Been coming here for years during lunch breaks. Food's always spot on, never had a bad meal. But what really makes it is the service - quick, friendly, and they get you in and out fast. Perfect for a quick bite.

The afternoon tea spread was impressive, lots of savoury and sweet bits. Perfect for sharing. My only note is that the tea selection felt a bit basic compared to the food. A more interesting loose-leaf option would have been nice to pair with it all.

The Batemans ales on tap are a proper treat. They always seem to pour a perfect pint here. The gin selection looks impressive too, though I haven't tried it yet. Just a really solid, cosy spot for a drink.

Lovely little spot in the centre of town. I really appreciated their focus on fresh, simple ingredients. The homemade cake I tried was moist and not overly sweet, which was perfect for me. You can tell everything is made with care. It was quite busy with locals, which is always a good sign.

Love the baguette specials here. The ingredients always taste so fresh and vibrant.

The fish and chips here are solid. The cod was fresh and flaky, and I really liked the chunky chips - crispy outside, fluffy inside. Just a proper portion.

Been here a few times. The fish and chips is always solid, proper crispy batter. Portion's decent for the price. It's a reliable spot when you can't be bothered cooking.

Decent food for the price. The student discount is a nice touch. My only gripe? The wine list is pretty basic. Had a glass of the house red, it was fine but didn't really complement the steak. Still, can't argue with the value.

The coffee refills are a nice touch for the price. I appreciated that the coffee itself tasted fresh, not burnt or bitter like some places. The pub space is large and clean, which is a plus.

Been coming here for years, and the fish and chips are always spot on. Freshly fried, never greasy. That consistency is why I keep coming back. The staff are lovely too.

Stumbled upon this little family-run deli down a side street. Perfect spot for a sunny day outside. Went for the falafel and salad – really generous portions, and you can taste the local produce. Simple and good.

Been grabbing my morning coffee here for years. Usually it's spot on, but a couple of times my takeaway americano was a bit weak. Still, they're quick and no fuss.

The cocktails were spot on. Had a couple with my veggie burger. Quick service, got my order in and out fast. Perfect for a quick lunch.

The sunset view over the marina was lovely. I really appreciated the fresh ingredients in my grilled sea bass—the herbs were so fragrant. A nice spot for a quiet meal.

Had a lovely two-night stay at the Red Lion. Their Sunday roast is a proper draw – the place was packed with locals. The sommelier’s wine pairing suggestion for the beef was spot on, really lifted the whole meal. Would definitely book a table next time.

Solid pub, stopped in for lunch. The 2 for £20 deal with a pint is decent. Had the fish and chips, batter was crispy. Good for a quick bite.

The staff here are so friendly, even during the busy breakfast rush. It's nice to feel looked after without having to wait ages for a coffee refill. Makes for a very relaxed start to the day.

The staff here are lovely and attentive, contributing to a great overall experience. The food is consistently fantastic, making it a place worth visiting again.

Family-friendly spot. Rooms are clean and spacious, plus they provide a free cot and changing mat which was handy. Check-out was quick.

Great homemade pasta, and the portions are huge. Their house red was a solid match for the rich sauces.

Staff are always friendly, even when it's packed or near closing. They take time with your order, never rushed. Makes you feel welcome.
