Menu changes often, which is cool. I was surprised by a new pasta special last night. Allergens are clearly marked, which is a relief.

Been coming here for years, and the gelato never disappoints. Their selection is great for finding something that pairs nicely with an espresso after dinner.

Came for a quiet dinner. The staff noticed it was a special night for us and added a few really nice personal touches without being over the top. It was a thoughtful gesture that stood out.

The coffee here is consistently good. I'm not one for the atmosphere, but the espresso has a nice, rich crema and the flavor is balanced. It's a solid cup.

The tasting menu was a highlight of our visit, with each course beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, enhancing the overall experience.

The pastries are a bit pricier than other cafes nearby, but the almond croissant I had was incredible. So flaky and buttery, with just the right amount of filling. That alone made the visit worth it for me.

I would recommend this lovely restaurant. We booked it in advance of arriving in Lucca and it lived up to our expectations. We were met by a very friendly host who showed us to our table outside the restaurant with lovely views of the piazza. We were given a glass of Prosecco on the house as a welcome drink. The food was local and very tasty. I had the Tomahawk pork steak and my partner had the beef fillet. Both highly recommended dishes. The house wine was of a high standard. We will definitely visit Old Charlie when we return to Lucca.

They have these cute little olive oil bottles, perfect for your carry-on! 😊 Tried a sample of the oil and vinegar before buying, which was a nice touch. Made it easy to grab a few for friends back home.
