Generous portions indeed. The seafood chowder was loaded with fish, and the mussels in white wine sauce were a highlight. The place has a nice, relaxed vibe with comfy booths.

Solid local pub. They've got a good rotation of real ales on tap, which is what I came for. The back room has a pool table, gives it that proper relaxed vibe. Just right for a quiet pint.

The Cornish pasty was solid. Flaky crust, good filling, not dry. Grabbed one to go for a quick lunch by the harbour. Does the job.

Stopped by for fish and chips. Simple and tasty, and the portion was decent for the price. But the real win was eating it outside with that sea view. Made a quick lunch feel pretty nice.

Dog-friendly but well-managed. Dogs stay on the floor, no fuss. Ate here a few times, food was consistently solid. No complaints.

The Malakoff pizza was the star. That Indian-inspired one was a proper surprise, really clever. The menu's got a lot of those interesting combos.

First time here. The steak and ale pie was homemade, piping hot and really hit the spot. Good, honest portion too. Place was spotless, which is always a plus. Staff were friendly even on a busy night.

Came for the flaky steak and steak & cheese pasties to go. Reheated them at home. The pastry was fresh and light, not greasy at all. The steak filling tasted good, with nice, simple ingredients. The cream tea scones were a decent size. A solid choice for a takeaway meal.

The food's a cut above your average pub grub. Their specials are solid, and the wine list had some nice options to pair with it.

Popped in for a bacon sarnie and a hot chocolate. Both were spot on and didn't cost the earth. Staff were dead friendly. Just a nice, easy start to the day.

The spicy bean burger was a decent veggie option. Had it with the salad bar, which was fresh and well-stocked. The burger itself was a bit small for the price though.

The food was great, especially the lamb tagine. Just a heads up, they only take cash, so come prepared. The vibe inside is really cosy though, with all the warm lighting and rustic decor.

Decent fish and chips, reasonably priced. Quick service too.

Been coming here for years, and the food's always been solid. But lately? It's just gotten even better. Noticed it on the steak last week - cooked perfectly, every time. That consistency keeps me coming back.

The £10 steak lunch was a proper find. Cooked just right, juicy and full of flavour. The tropical tunes and decor were a nice touch, felt like a little escape for an hour.

Breakfast downstairs had a lot to choose from. I went for the full Cornish breakfast and it was just right, especially the poached eggs on my toast. Really hit the spot.

Booked ahead to get a window seat, totally worth it for the view. The food was decent, but honestly, you're paying for the location. A bit pricey for what it is, but the sunset was spot on.

The Brie and honey dip was really nice. A lovely spot for a relaxed lunch. Service was quick and friendly, though the tables are a bit close together. The location adds to the charm.

The food is so good and feels homemade. Huge portions for the price, perfect for sharing with friends!

The Cornish pasty was definitely the star. It was huge, packed with filling and came out steaming hot. For the price, you get a proper meal. Couldn't finish it all, which is saying something.

The battered fish was fantastic, really crispy and well-seasoned. The portion was generous for the price, which I always appreciate. The chips were nice, though they were more like fries than proper chunky chips.

The crab soufflé was a standout - light, airy, and packed with flavour. The seafood curry was also solid, with a nice depth to the sauce. The menu's got a good range, including those daily specials on the board.

Been coming here for years. The coffee's always good, strong and consistent. Staff are friendly, know the regulars. It's a solid local spot, nothing fancy.

Pastry was firm but not hard, fillings moist and creamy. A clear step up from their other location in town.

Lovely spot to stop after a walk around the lake. The setting in the gardens is just right. We shared a slice of their lemon drizzle cake with a pot of tea. The cake was moist, not too sweet. A nice, quiet pause.

Blueberry pancakes were a solid choice for a quick bite. Fluffy, lots of fruit. Got them to go and they were ready fast. My kid loved them too. Good for when you're in a hurry.
