Food came out super fast, perfect for a quick lunch. The plates are really nice, makes the meal feel a bit special. Staff is friendly too. Got my order and was out the door in no time.

Cozy spot, feels like a little escape. Ordered the coq au vin, portion was generous for the price. Could easily share it. A solid choice when you want something hearty without overspending.

Had to wait in line for about 30 mins for dinner, but it moved fast. The vibe was perfect for catching up with friends—everyone was chatting and laughing. It was a bit loud, but honestly that just made it more fun for our group.

The counter seats are the best. Just watching the chefs grill skewers in that cozy, traditional izakaya light… it’s so calming. A nice spot to unwind after a long day.

Shoes off at the table. That detail made it feel real. Just like my last trip to Kyoto. The grilled mackerel was spot on. A bit pricey, but worth it for the vibe.

The tonkatsu was so good! Thick, juicy pork with a really crispy crust. Loved trying all the different sauces on the table.

A very calm and bright space, perfect for a quiet coffee. The staff were polite and made ordering easy. I appreciated the comfortable seating - it's nice to not feel rushed. The coffee was good.

Stopped in after a day on the slopes at Happo-One. The quiet jazz and relaxed vibe were just right. Had a hot toddy that really hit the spot—the whiskey they used was a nice choice for warming up. Staff were friendly. A solid spot for a post-ski drink.

Been coming here for years, and the special takoyaki plate they do for birthdays is the main reason. It's always the same, always good. That consistency is what keeps me coming back.

I was impressed by the meticulous preparation of each dish. The variety of side dishes at breakfast was exciting, and the flavors were perfectly balanced, making it a memorable meal.

I had a delightful full-course French meal here. The dishes were beautifully presented and the flavors were exquisite, showcasing the chef's skill.

The refined flavor of Kobe Wagyu beef was outstanding, and the chef's passion for quality ingredients was evident. This restaurant offers an exceptional experience that exceeds its price, making it a must-visit for anyone in Karuizawa.

Stumbled upon this place after visiting the monkeys. It's a short walk from the bus stop, which was perfect. The English menu was a lifesaver. I tried the curry udon—the broth was so rich and warming on a cold day.

Been coming here for years. The pork modan yaki is my go-to. Always a generous portion, flavor is spot on and it's never too heavy. Just right with a cold beer.

The Hyotan Gozen set was a nice spread. The sushi and sashimi were fresh, and the mini steak was cooked just right. Tempura was crispy. For the price, you get a bit of everything. A solid choice if you want to try different things.

Nice cozy spot with a real traditional feel. I've been coming here for years, it's my go-to for a quiet dinner. The atmosphere is just right, not too loud. Feels like a proper neighborhood place.

Been coming here for years. The steak is always cooked just right, and the garlic rice is a solid side. Staff are nice, no fuss.

The premium unagi was a decent portion, grilled nicely over charcoal. It had a pretty good aroma. I left feeling satisfied, though the price is a bit on the higher side.

A bit tricky to find down the alley, but the vibe inside is nice and relaxed. Had a pretty good lunch here. The pasta was decent, though the portion felt a touch small for the price.

Good spread for a hotel buffet. The local sake in the morning was a nice surprise, actually enjoyed it. Made the start of the day feel a bit different.

The gyoza wrappers have this perfect firm chew, and the filling just bursts with flavor. Fried or boiled, both ways were so good. I could eat these all day.

The beer selection on tap is really nice. They use fresh ingredients in their cocktails, which I appreciate.
