Stopped in for a pint and ended up staying for food. Guinness was properly poured, which always makes me happy. Place had a nice relaxed buzz about it, locals and tourists mixed in fine. Only thing is it got a bit busy later on, but that&#39;s on me for lingering. Solid enough spot if you&#39;re in the area and want an easy, no-fuss sit-down.

The beef and Guinness pie was the standout. Rich, dark gravy, proper chunks of meat, pastry that held up. Had it with the champ, which soaked up the sauce nicely. Portion was decent for the price. Could&#39;ve done with a bit more pepper in the mash, but that&#39;s a small thing. I&#39;d order that again.

The fish and chips here are always solid&mdash;never had a bad batch. Place gets busy, but that&rsquo;s just how it goes. Staff were friendly enough too.
