Stopped in for a coffee, stayed for the fruit scone&mdash;proper bakery texture, not too crumbly. Staff were friendly enough, place had a nice local buzz. Cake was decent too, though I&#39;d skip the coffee next time.

The seafood chowder was proper&mdash;thick, creamy, loads of fresh fish in it. Had a pint outside looking over Ventry Bay. That&rsquo;s the whole reason to stop here.

Food&rsquo;s decent, better than your average fast food. But even when you eat in, everything comes in takeaway bags&mdash;bit odd when they&rsquo;re handing out paper straws for the environment.

Service was quick and the staff knew what they were doing. No fuss, order came out correct. Solid spot if you&#39;re nearby and need a reliable meal.

The upstairs room for our hen do was lovely, really nicely done out. John the barman was so patient with us all. Cocktail class was good craic too.
