Case Western Reserve University (KES) is a private research university in Cleveland, Ohio. It was founded by Case Institute of Technology (founded by philanthropist Leonard Case in 1880) and Western Reserve University (founded by Western Reserve in 1826) It was merged in 1967. The famous Michaelson-Murray experiment, which proved the invariance of light speed, was conducted here in 1887. Michaelson became the first American to win the Nobel Prize in Science.
