Plaza Mayor Review

The Plaza Mayor adds a bit of laziness to the bustling Puerta del Sol. When I walk into this square "complex" from Madrid's old neighborhood, I immediately feel a unique atmosphere! The square has 9 arches connecting the outer streets.

The square of Mayor, built in 1619; more than 300 years after it was built, three fires were damaged and three rebuilt; it has been preserved since the third reconstruction in 1953. The rectangular square, 129 meters long and 94 meters wide, stands in the center of the statue of Phillip III riding in the square, which was ordered to be built; Surrounded by 4-storey buildings, 237 balconies facing the square; the square's nine arched anus leads to the main street in the city center.
