Heizhugou is situated in the Yibian Yi Nationality Autonomous County in the southwest of Emei Mountain, which is the transitional zone between the Sichuan Basin and the western Sichuan Plateau. The ethnic customs here are quaint and colorful, and the cultural landscape and natural landscape are integrated as one. It is a humanistic attraction to explore the nature. There are two main attractions in the scenic spot: the primeval forest and the wetland park. The original forest has fresh air and lovely landscape. Wetland park is very large, if you are lucky, you can find natural hot springs inside.Ebian · 32.5km from downtown

Mount Emei is one of the four famous mountains of Chinese Buddhism, and it is also the temple of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva. There are numerous Buddhist monasteries in the mountains that combine to give this place a holy and serene atmosphere. The scenery in the mountains are beautiful. The four seasons each have their own characteristics. If you are lucky, you can see the sunrise and sea of clouds. Do note that the monkeys in Mount Emei are notoriously naughty. They are not afraid of people, and even take the initiative to ask tourists for food.Emeishan City · 36.3km from Ebian

The Jinkou River Grand Canyon, which starts from the Wusi River in the west and freezes to the Jinkou River, spans the Jinkou River District of Leshan City, Sichuan Province. Hanyuan County in Ya'an City and Ganluo County in Liangshan River. It has a total length of 26 kilometers, the width of the valley is less than 200 meters, and the depth of the valley is 2600 meters. The peaks on both sides of the canyon protrude, and the dangerous rocks stand up, forming various pictographic landscapes, like people and beasts, lifelike, overlapping mountains, shady trees, waterfalls, various mountain flowers and wild grasses competing for beauty, forming a gorgeous scenery. , natural and elegant. There are many small ravines along the canyon, which are well-proportioned. Among them, the most famous one is the one-line sky. The cliffs on both sides of the gully are close to each other. When you look up, you can only look at the sky. Follow it to enter the Laochang Valley to the center of the ditch. This section is a few kilometers long. The road is even more amazing, with ravines and cliffs, gurgling streams, chirping birds and beasts, and sheep intestines trails, which are completely "malicious" manifestations of nature.Leshan · 22.9km from Ebian

Emeishan's Golden Peak Temple is surrounded on all sides by places of interest, attractions, and temples of all sizes, shapes, and historicity. To visit here is to truly experience the essence of Emeishan. Golden Peak Temple's golden statue of the Samantabhadra (the Universal Worthy with Four Faces and Ten Great Vows) is a must-see for many tourists to Emeishan. It is also one of the Han ethnicity national key temples of Buddhism. At 3,079 meters above sea level, visitors to the Golden Peak Temple will find their breath taken away by more than just the 48m tall Samantabhadra. While there, devotees may also go to the Huayan Temple to pay respect to the Buddha. From all four sides of the Golden Peak Temple, it is possible to see Emeishan's four wonders - the rising sun, the sea of clouds, the glory of the Buddha, and the holy light.Emeishan City · 33.3km from Ebian

Leshan Giant Buddha

The Leshan Giant Buddha, also known as the Lingyun Giant Buddha, is situated on the cliff of Qiluan Peak on Lingyun Mountain at the confluence of the Min River, Qingyi River, and Dadu River in Leshan, Sichuan. It is a colossal seated stone statue of Maitreya carved during the Tang Dynasty, standing approx. 70 m tall, with a single instep spacious enough to accommodate over a hundred people. Legend has it that the turbulent waters at the confluence once frequently capsized passing boats. To calm the currents, the monk Haitong of Lingyun Temple initiated the carving of the Buddha. Over several generations, craftsmen continued the construction, which took approx. ninety years to complete. On the cliff to the right of the Buddha, an inscription from the Tang Dynasty titled "Jiazhou Lingyun Temple Great Maitreya Stone Statue" remains to this day, revealing its original name—the Great Maitreya Stone Statue of Jiazhou Lingyun Temple. The common route to visit the giant Buddha is to first arrive at Lingyun Temple beside the Buddha's head, then descend along the winding Jiuzhaigou plank road built against the cliff. View the Buddha's spiral hair buns and robe folds up close, and reach the platform at the Buddha's feet to look up at the full figure. Only then can one truly appreciate the grandeur of "a mountain being a Buddha, and a Buddha being a mountain." Lingyun Temple has continuous incense offerings, and many travelers also join their palms here to pray for blessings. For a different perspective, take a boat cruise or view from the riverside of Leshan ancient city: the continuous mountain outlines of Wuyou Mountain, Lingyun Mountain, and Guicheng Mountain resemble a giant reclining Buddha facing upward, with the grand Buddha seated precisely at its chest—creating the marvel of "Buddha within Buddha." The river view also captures the grand Buddha's full profile alongside the scenery of three rivers, making it especially effortless for travelers with limited stamina or those seeking panoramic shots.Leshan · 60.7km from Ebian

The Dujiangyan Irrigation System is located along the main branch of the Lancang River, west of Dujiangyan City. It was constructed in the Qin dynasty around 256 BC by Li Bing, Prefecture Chief of Shu County, and his son. It is one of the few ancient Chinese water conservancy projects that has remained preserved and intact. The project consists of three primary works—Yuzui Diverting Embankment, the Feishayan Spillway, and the Baopingkou Water Inlet, and two secondary works which include the Baizhangdi (the thousand-feet dam) and Renzidi (the y-shaped dam). They divide the Yongjiang River into an outer and an inner branch, the former of which is used to divert floods and the latter for irrigation. This has allowed the Western Sichuan plateau to become "the land of abundance" as we now know it.China · Dujiangyan

Mount Qingcheng

Mount Qingcheng has long been praised as "Tranquil Paradise under Heaven," with its peaks encircling like city walls—hence the name. Legend says Zhang Daoling of the Eastern Han dynasty established Taoism here in a thatched hut, making it the ancestral home of Celestial Master Taoism, where temple incense still burns today. The mountain divides into front and back sections: the front features Taoist temples and cultural relics, commonly referred to as "Mount Qingcheng" by most travelers; the back excels in natural landscapes like pools, waterfalls, streams, and gorges, making it ideal for hiking and summer retreats. The highlights of Qianshan are concentrated. Starting from Jianfu Palace beside the mountain gate, follow the ancient stone steps upward past Natural Picture, Tianshi Cave, Chaoyang Cave, and Shangqing Palace, with the summit's Laojun Pavilion as the final vantage point. Tianshi Cave, also called Changdao Temple, is one of the mountain's largest Taoist complexes—its front courtyard holds a millennium-old ginkgo tree allegedly planted by Zhang Daoling, while the cliffside Ink-throwing Trough behind is said to be where the celestial master drew mountains with vermilion ink. Painting master Zhang Daqian once resided at Shangqing Palace, styling himself "Guest of Qingcheng." At the mountain's base, Yuecheng Lake's mirror-like waters add ethereal beauty to the lush greenery. The rear mountain entrance is the quaint Tai'an ancient town. From here, the trails connect Wulong gully and Feiquan gully into a loop, with views like Misty spring triple pools, Double spring water curtain cave, and Hundred-zhang long bridge accompanied by the sounds of water and shaded woods. The Longyin gorge walkway built along cliffs overlooks rushing streams below, making it a dedicated hiking route. The mountain stays pleasantly cool even in midsummer. The front mountain and back mountain entrances are not connected, usually requiring separate itineraries. Most 1-day tours choose one of the two. The front mountain's main temples can be visited in half a day, while the back mountain loop is longer and requires reserving most of a day. Travelers wishing to see the sunrise often ascend the mountain a day early, staying overnight at mountain temples for convenient morning viewing.China · Dujiangyan

The scenery is beautiful, at an altitude of about 2000 meters. There's a 3-kilometer-long, gently sloping wooden boardwalk with almost no steep inclines, perfect for a leisurely stroll. The still lake reflects the surrounding scenery, and meadows and pastures dot the hillsides with cattle and horses – a truly therapeutic spot for photos. No strenuous hiking is required, making it easy for seniors and children to enjoy. The area boasts a high concentration of negative oxygen ions.

Mount Emei is renowned throughout the land, with its Golden Summit shrouded in mist. Today, the Golden Summit is enveloped in a magnificent, ethereal fog. Although the entire mountain range is obscured, this foggy weather offers a rare and precious experience. While there will always be some regrets, contentment brings happiness. Keep going!

Mali Lengjiu is one of the two scenic spots open in the huge Heizhugou Scenic Area in Ebian County, but it is the most worthwhile alpine meadow beauty. The scenic area is located in a mountainous area at an altitude of about 2,000 meters, covering an area of more than 2,000 acres. It is a natural swamp. Because it is surrounded by high mountains, the middle is flat, the area is wide, and the vision is wide, it enjoys the reputation of "alpine plain". Standing in the center of the meadow and looking around, the mountains are green, the mountains behind are steep and tall, the trees are lush, and the nearly 1,000 acres of flat land in the center make the scene spectacular.

Jinkou Grand Canyon is actually a section of the Dadu River Geopark within the Jinkou River. It features a reservoir and dam, a waterway highway and a suspension bridge, cliffside villages and a railway corps museum. The cliffs on the banks are colorful, and the rushing water below reflects the emerald green. The majestic beauty and grandeur of Jinkou Grand Canyon are truly breathtaking!

There are two cable car lines to the Golden Summit. Line 1 is for standing passengers, with a capacity of 100 people per line. Line 2 is for sitting passengers, with a capacity of 6 people per line. Line 2 only goes up in the morning, not down. It is recommended to take Line 2 to go up the mountain and Line 1 to go down.

Great! Fun and delicious food! Long live Mount Emei! The cable car staff were attentive and helpful. The mountain was completely shrouded in fog, making it impossible to see the sunrise. It was quite nice though, as the sun didn't come out until noon. I saw the sun and each individual sun.

This itinerary is suitable for families with elderly members or children; it's relatively easy, and there are designated rest areas on the mountain. The Leshan Giant Buddha Scenic Area definitely deserves five stars; it's worth visiting countless times.

Overall, the scenic area is quite nice. I entered through Gate 6, Qin Yan Tower, passed Erwang Temple, Anlan Suspension Bridge, Fish Mouth, Feisha Weir, and Baopingkou, and exited through Gate 1 of Fulong Temple. The gatekeepers are located at Nanqiao Bridge and the ancient city of Guanxian. Actually, 3 hours is enough for the whole tour. If you walk quickly, 2 hours is also possible. Dujiangyan is a cultural landscape. Regarding whether or not to hire a guide, hiring a good one is advisable if you can afford it. Because I did my research beforehand, I didn't hire one. I'm unsure if the guide's content would meet my needs.

If you like scenery paired with cultural / religious aspects, I can recommend to visit this place. Beautiful mountain area with flush forests and a walk up the mountain that lets you visit many Taoist temples on the way. There is also a cable way (rather inexpensive) that can help you either up or down or both ways. As most people take the cableway up and walk down (which is the anti clockwise way), I can recommend walking up and taking the cableway down. Why? Because this way you have less people walking your way plus I feel walking down the steep steps may hurt your knees. If you hike the way down, would suggests to buy the bamboo sticks outside the park (2 yuan). If you decide to walk up, the sticks might be rather a hurdle than helping. I would go again, as every day the light anf views are different.
