Mt Bromo
Mt Bromo is an active volcano in eastern Java, Indonesia, part of the Tengger volcanic complex, with an elevation of approx. 2,329 m. It stands in the center of the ancient Tengger caldera, which is approx. 10 km in diameter, surrounded by a vast, sparsely vegetated Sea of Sand covered in volcanic ash. You can also ride a horse across the Sea of Sand, passing the Poten Hindu Temple in the center—the spiritual center for the local Tenggerese Hindus. The volcano is also a sacred site for the Tenggerese people.
