Huangqiao Ancient Town
Huangqiao Town was built during the Yuanfeng reign of Shenzong in the Northern Song Dynasty. It is a thousand-year-old town with a long history and a famous cultural town with rich heritage. It is adjacent to the Yangtze River in the south, Rugao in the east, and Jiangyan in the north. Huangqiao has historically been known as a water hub that "divides Huaiwa in the north and connects with Jiangchao in the south". Provincial Highway 334, such as the Yellow Line and Jiangba Line, cross the town area, and two expressways, Ningjingyan and Ningtong, pass through the town. Across the border from Huangqiao, the New (Yi) Chang (Xing) Railway has a passenger and cargo marshalling station in Huangqiao. The Yellow Bridge has a long history and is rich in humanities. There are more than 2,000 well-preserved Ming and Qing buildings in the Yellow Bridge, and a small number of Song Dynasty buildings. There are three traditional ancient blocks in the east, south and west, with a total area of nearly 30 hectares. Huangqiao is also the site of the Battle of Huangqiao under the command of the older generation of proletarian revolutionaries, and many historical sites of the revolution are still preserved. During the period of resisting Japan and saving the nation, a decisive battle of Huangqiao that shocked China and foreign countries became a new glory added to the history of Huangqiao, and a song of Huangqiao sesame cakes has been sung in the north and south of the river since then.Taixing · 18.9km from downtown
China Dinosaurs Land
China Dinosaur Park is a large-scale amusement park with dinosaur culture as its theme. It is a one-stop tourist resort integrating science, entertainment, performances, accommodation and shopping. It is known as the "Oriental Jurassic". The park currently has seven theme areas, more than 50 extreme amusement projects, and various themed performances every day. It takes tourists back to the ancient and mysterious Jurassic era. As the landmark building of the China Dinosaur Park, the appearance of the China Dinosaur Museum fully utilizes the bionic architectural technique. From a distance, it seems that three dinosaurs are whispering with their heads raised high, and a plump and huge dinosaur body presents a freehand shape, which outlines the exhibition, entertainment and popular science space of the dinosaur museum. The total area of the museum is more than 20,000 square meters. The highest point of the dragon head is 71 meters, and the highest point of the dome of the museum is 36 meters. There are five main halls and six auxiliary halls in the China Dinosaur Museum. The main hall includes the atrium, exhibition hall, landscape hall, sightseeing hall and film and television hall; the auxiliary halls include the entrance hall, VIP reception hall, academic lecture hall, spare exhibition hall, roof garden, Souvenir sales house and other spaces. Each hall is connected through a logical route. Taking the history of biological evolution as the design background, the main line of the conception of dinosaurs from survival, reproduction, evolution to destruction is highlighted, revealing the profound theme that life and environment are interdependent, and humans must protect ecology and environment. Park Distribution: The Dinosaur Park is divided into the China Dinosaur Museum, Lubula, Kuksuk Grand Canyon, Magic Rainforest, Dream Manor, Adventure Port, and Crazy Dinosaur. The China Dinosaur Museum is the core venue for displaying dinosaur culture; the thrilling mechanical amusement projects are mainly in Kuksuk and Lubula. Exciting rides: Numerous high-altitude mechanical amusement projects make this place a great choice for thrill seekers: you can sit on the high-altitude swing project "Crazy Fire Dragon Drill" to experience a strong sense of weightlessness; or climb up the "Tower of Babel" to seek the thrill of a sudden drop from the air; there is also a 4D roller coaster that allows you to experience the thrill of extreme speed and flying in one second. Leisure activities: There are also relaxing and leisure activities in the park. You can visit a variety of Chinese dinosaur fossils in the China Dinosaur Museum, where you will learn about dinosaur culture. You can also participate in less thrilling amusement projects, such as the "Brontosaurus Roller Coaster", which allows you to find joy in a slightly tense environment; you can also watch musicals, magic shows, and real-life stunt performances in different venues. Water World and Night Park: Jurassic Water World brings you a refreshing and cool experience throughout the summer. The classic water projects will make you forget the heat of the whole summer. The cool water play experience will let you release all your passion. The hot performances will ignite every cell in your body. Let the children enjoy an unforgettable summer vacation. You can still play most of the projects at night. You can also experience the excitement of the giant water slide and the 30-meter impact skateboard in the water world, and you can also start a water battle in the giant water fortress (you need to buy tickets for the water world separately).Changzhou · 38.9km from Taixing
The Bund
The Bund is located along the Huangpu River, stretching approx. 1.5 km in length. As a symbolic attraction of Shanghai, it features a diverse collection of international architectural styles and the stunning night view of the Huangpu River as its highlights. The Bund stands with dozens of classical revival buildings in diverse styles, including the renowned Bank of China building, Shanghai Peace Hotel, Customs House, and HSBC building, recreating the former glory of the "Wall Street of the Far East." Surprisingly, these structures were neither designed by the same architect nor built in the same period, yet they possess a unique harmonious beauty. The Bund showcases various architectural styles, such as French classical, French chateau, and Gothic, which are significant historical sites and representative buildings of modern China, forming a stunning scenic line along the Huangpu River. As night falls, the neon lights on both banks illuminate the sky. Board a Huangpu River cruise or ferry and glide along the river, feeling the gentle breeze. On one side is The Bund, a witness to historical development, while on the other stands Lujiazui, Shanghai's modern landmark. West Lake
West Lake is undoubtedly the epitome of Hangzhou's beauty. The famous "Ten scenes of West Lake" surround its shores, where nature and culture complement each other, forming the core area of Hangzhou tourism. You don't need to visit every attraction - instead, spend half a day or a full day strolling along the lake. However you choose to enjoy it, the experience will surely lift your spirits. West Lake is the core attraction of Hangzhou, surrounded by clouds and mountains on three sides and the city on one side. The Su Causeway and Bai Causeway stretch across the lake, dividing it into several water areas. The lakeside scenery is highlighted by the "Ten Scenes of West Lake" from the Southern Song Dynasty, along with the later "New Ten Scenes" and "Three Additional Scenes," featuring over a hundred attractions along the shore and mountains. Pavilions, temples, pagodas, gardens, causeways, and islands complement the distant mountains and nearby waters, while legends like the Broken Bridge where Lady White Snake met Xu Xian add a layer of storytelling to the landscape. West Lake extends east from Songmuchang in Hangzhou and the north of Baolu Road turning to Shaoniangong Square, passing Baisha Road, Huancheng West Road, Hubin Road, and Nanshan Road to the south of Wansong Ridge, covering all attractions including Wu Mountain, Ziyang Mountain, and Yunju Mountain. To the south, it stretches from Gulou along the eastern foothills of Wu Mountain, Ziyang Mountain, and Yunju Mountain, passing Fengshanmen and Fenghuangshan Road, then following the West Lake water diversion channel to the north bank of the Qiantang River, turning to the Coral Sand Reservoir and ending north of Liufangling. To the west, it runs from Liufangling, Zhugan Mountain, Jiuqu Ridge, and Mingren Ridge to Meiren Peak, Beigaofeng, Lingfeng Mountain, and east of the ridge line of Laohe Mountain. To the north, it follows the foothills of Laohe Mountain (west wall of Zhejiang University), turns 30 m north of Qingzhiwu Road, connects to Yugu Road, Zhejiang University Road, and Shuguang Road, ending south of Songmuchang. West Lake has over 100 attractions, renowned for its "Ten scenes of West Lake", "New ten scenes of West Lake" and "Three reviews · Ten scenes of West Lake". West Lake overview You can explore West Lake on foot, by cruise, on electric bikes, via self-drive, or by riding. Among these, electric bikes are the most convenient and effortless option, with hop-on-hop-off sightseeing vehicles circling the entire lake. Riding along the lakeshore is romantic and leisurely, with many public bike rental spots available. For a boat tour, there are nearly 10 docks around the lake offering various vessels and routes. We highly recommend taking a cruise to Three Pools Mirroring the Moon at the lake center while enjoying the scenic views. Alternatively, you can hail a hand-rowed boat for a more flexible experience with a boatman guiding your tour. North line scenery The north shore of West Lake gathers quite a few attractions, usually starting from the remnant snow on broken bridge at the northeast corner and heading west all the way to Yuewang Temple. You can walk along Bai Causeway to Solitary Hill, visiting cultural attractions like Xiling Seal Engravers' Society, Zhejiang Provincial Museum, Chinese Seal Art Museum, and Zhongshan Park's Crane Pavilion. Enjoy authentic West Lake vinegar fish at Louwailou Restaurant, then cross Xiling Bridge to leave the island - Yuewang Temple and Breeze-ruffled lotus at Quyuan Garden are just a short distance away. If it's a summer day with strong sunlight, it is recommended to stroll along Beishan road, hiding under the dense shade of trees to admire the curve of Broken bridge and the swaying weeping willows on Bai causeway opposite. There are many entrances along the way leading to Precious stone hill, where you can hike for views, and descend to reach Yuewang temple. Yuewang square has many small shops for snacks, and the Impression West Lake show here in the evening is also worth watching. If you have ample time and energy, you can also head to Su causeway from here for a walk to enjoy the panoramic view of West Lake. Southeast coast (Lakeside-Nanshan Road) Another area with a concentration of attractions is the Hubin Road-Nanshan Road along the southeastern coast. Hubin Road is located at the junction between Hangzhou's urban area and the attraction, offering views of West Lake, a dock for West Lake cruises, and the iconic music fountain. The advantage of Hubin Road is its quick access from the attraction to the downtown business district, making it suitable for travelers with a tight itinerary to make a short stop. Head south from Hubin road and walk along Nanshan road, where you can visit attractions like Orioles singing in the willows, Long bridge, Leifeng pagoda, Evening bell at Nanping hill, and Viewing fish at flower harbor. The distance between adjacent attractions is not far, so you can walk or take a sightseeing bus or public transport, which are also convenient. You can arrange a day to visit a few of them according to your preference. Among them, Leifeng pagoda and Evening bell at Nanping hill can be visited in the evening. Listening to the bell at Jingci temple and overlooking the night view of West lake from Leifeng pagoda are both great experiences.China · Hangzhou
Slender West Lake
"In March when flowers bloom, head to Yangzhou." When visiting Yangzhou in spring, a trip to Slender West Lake is a must. This narrow stretch of waterway offers the perfect blend of natural beauty and cultural heritage. Stroll along the banks to admire scenic views, explore historic pavilions adorned with classical poetry and paintings, or cruise the lake by boat to experience the leisurely pleasure Emperor Qianlong once enjoyed during his royal visits. The attraction is quite expansive, stretching from the Great Rainbow Bridge in the southeast all the way north along the lake to Guanyin Mountain, passing dozens of attractions along the way. There are four main entrances (east, south, west, and north), with most visitors starting their tour at the south entrance on Great Rainbow Bridge Road. This renowned lakeside garden boasts breathtaking natural views. In spring, the area is shaded by lush willows and adorned with camellias, pomegranates, azaleas, and peach blossoms, attracting visitors from across the country to enjoy the seasonal blooms. For centuries, countless literati have lingered here, composing poetry and creating paintings that left behind numerous artistic treasures and stories. The site also features many landscape structures ingeniously designed to harmonize with its natural surroundings. The Five Pavilion Bridge in Shugang Slender West Lake Scenic Area is the iconic attraction with over 200 years of history. Featuring five wind pavilions atop, each of the bridge's fifteen arches cradles a moon during full moon nights. Another renowned attraction is the Twenty-Four Bridge, inspired by Du Mu's poetic line "Where is the jade-like beauty teaching flute-playing on the moonlit Twenty-Four Bridge?" While the original bridge no longer exists, visitors can admire its reconstructed version today. This was also a stop during Emperor Qianlong's southern tours in the Qing Dynasty. Architectural views like the Great Rainbow Bridge, Slender West Lake Scenic Area's Fishing Terrace, White Pagoda, and the Twenty-Four Bridges' Xichun Platform all bear inseparable historical anecdotes connected to Emperor Qianlong. During summer nights, the illuminated pavilions and moonlit reflections on the lake create a magical atmosphere. The nightlife experience here is entirely boat-based, offering a relaxing way to beat the summer heat while enjoying gentle lake breezes.Yangzhou · 64.1km from Taixing

Mount Huangshan Scenic Area
Mount Huangshan is famous for its long history. "You would not want to visit mountains after visiting the Five Sacred Mountains, and you would not want to visit the Five Sacred Mountains after visiting Huangshan." Xu Xiake, a great traveler and geographer of the Ming Dynasty, twice ascended Huangshan to witness its magnificence, exclaiming it as "a wonder in life." Dramatic Pines, grotesque rocks, sea of clouds, and hot springs are known as the “Four Musts” of Huangshan. They are the uncanny workmanship of nature and cannot be missed. In addition, the haze, snow scene, and sunrise are unique landscapes of Huangshan. Each landscape has its unique beauty and makes you feel like you are in a fairyland.China · Huangshan City
Humble Administrator's Garden
The Humble Administrator's Garden is a famous garden in Suzhou, with water as its central feature, surrounded by artfully arranged rockeries and exquisite courtyard buildings, all flourishing with plants. This exemplary Jiangnan garden, along with Beijing's Summer Palace, Chengde Mountain Resort, and Suzhou's Lingering Garden, is collectively known as the "four great gardens of China" and has been inscribed on the World Cultural Heritage list. The garden's design is exquisitely crafted, offering "a unique view with every step" as you explore, with every corner embodying the charm of Jiangnan water towns. Its winding paths lead through layered archways and stone walls with intricate cutouts, where no two pavilions or windows are alike—each perfectly complemented by surrounding flora to create picturesque scenes. You could easily spend hours photographing here. The garden is divided into eastern, central, and western sections, each with distinct features. The central garden largely preserves the simple and natural style of Ming Dynasty gardens, representing the essence of the entire complex and warranting thorough exploration. The eastern garden offers more open spaces, while the western garden features exquisite architecture. At the southern end of the Humble Administrator's Garden lies Suzhou Garden Museum, China's specialized museum dedicated to garden art. Humble Administrator's Garden features major views including Lanxue hall, Hanqing pavilion, Yuanxiang hall, Xiangzhou boat, Thirty-six mandarin ducks hall, and bonsai garden. Two particularly interesting sights stand out: first is the "borrowed view of Beisi pagoda"—when looking westward from the east garden, the pagoda 1 km away appears within the garden, creating a popular photo opportunity for travelers, with this borrowed scenery technique visible throughout the grounds during exploration. Second is the "small flying rainbow bridge" in the central garden, where vermilion railings reflected in water resemble a rainbow, forming an exceptionally beautiful view centered on this bridge. The garden's floral displays change with the seasons: azalea exhibition in spring, lotus exhibition in summer, chrysanthemum exhibition in fall, and fruit bonsai exhibition around the Spring Festival.China · Suzhou

It usually charges an entrance fee, but it was free during the National Day holiday. There were quite a few patriotic people and young military enthusiasts. It was extremely crowded, and parking wasn't very convenient; traffic police directed people to park on the side of the road. Worth a visit.

My second visit to West Lake was great; the boat tour was excellent. The dock was easy to find, the staff were very friendly, provided clear explanations, and helped with any issues. There were also sightseeing buses, which were nice but a bit pricey. Taking the boat tour and then walking around was both perfectly fine.

It wasn't very interesting 😂 The scenery was just typical Jiangnan scenery, nothing special. Maybe it was the wrong time of year? In terms of entertainment value, I feel it's not even as good as Guyi Garden, which costs 12 yuan a ticket.

Huangshan Mountain boasts beautiful scenery, and taking the cable car up and down is not tiring. The difference between viewing the West Sea Grand Canyon from above and walking down is significant. Those with limited physical fitness don't need to go all the way down; just walking a few steps is sufficient.
