Do Northern trains have First Class? Everything you need to know

Northern Trains no longer provides a First Class service. The operator removed all First Class seating across its network to increase capacity for Standard Class passengers.

If travelling in First Class is important, other train operators provide this service on overlapping routes. Options include:

• Avanti West Coast, with First Class between London, Manchester, Liverpool, and Glasgow
• TransPennine Express, with First Class available on services linking Manchester, Leeds, York, and Newcastle
