Trains to Ibrox Stadium: Nearest station & cheap tickets
Catching a game at the Ibrox Stadium and looking to get a simple train connection to and from the match? You’re in the right place!
With a history stretching back as far as 1899, Ibrox is the third-largest football stadium in Scotland with an all-seated capacity of 51,700. The home of Rangers Football Club is both steeped in history and one of the most thrilling environments in all of live sports - and it is pretty easy to access via rail, too.
In this guide, we’ll cover the local train station you’ll want to aim for when getting here and back, as well as some suggested routes from popular cities and other useful information you may need ahead of the big day.

What is the nearest train station to Ibrox Stadium?

Interestingly, the nearest rail station to Ibrox Stadium is not actually the most convenient way of accessing it. Let us explain…
The easiest way to access Ibrox Stadium is to use the local Metro station, simply named ‘Ibrox Station,’ which is just a 10 to 15 minute walk from the iconic sports ground. This Metro station is very closely connected to central Glasgow, so those travelling from afar will want to aim for Glasgow Central Station. From there, it’s only a short walk to several Metro stations in town which can get you to Ibrox in no time. These include St. Enoch, which will take around 8 minutes, or Buchanan Street, which will take approximately 10 minutes.
Note that the station runs from 06:30 to 23:40 on weekdays (plenty of time to get away on busy match days), and from 10:00 to 18:12 on Sundays. During peak times, there’ll be a train every four minutes, though it’s closer to once every six to eight minutes throughout the day.
From Ibrox Stadium, the way to the stadium should both be clearly signposted (especially on match day) and visible from the street, but the recommended route is to walk down Copland Road and then head right on either Mafeking Street or Edminston Street.
The address for Ibrox Stadium is: 150 Edmiston Dr, Glasgow, G51 2XD, United Kingdom
However, technically, the closest train station (not Metro) to Ibrox Stadium is Dumbreck, which is about a mile away and takes 20 minutes to walk, though services are far more infrequent (one per hour every day except Sundays). Whilst this is still a viable option, we’d personally root for the centrality and convenience of the route detailed above to make your journey as easy as possible (especially as you can typically expect big crowds and busy services).

This means you should be able to get from central Glasgow to Ibrox Stadium in under half an hour if timings line up nicely, and depending on where you start your journey from, but be sure to factor in how game day crowds may add extra journey time.
