The Kemal-Ataturk Mausoleum is located on a hill about 2 kilometers from the center of Ankara, where Mustafa Kemal, the founder and first president of the Turkish Republic, is buried. The cemetery is very spectacular, with some inspection booths and statues, as well as a monument to Kemal's former friend, the second President of the Turkish Republic, Ismail Teinonu, and a museum that introduces Kemal's life experience. The Inonu Peace Monument opposite the main courtyard is simple and majestic in style, guarded by tall guards.
