Photos of Yingjiang Temple

Yingjiang Temple stands on the bank of the big river in the east of the city. In ancient times, it was called Huguo Yongchang Temple, also known as Wanfo Temple. It was built in the seventh year of Kaibao in the Northern Song Dynasty (974). In the forty-seventh year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (1619), Ruan Zihua raised funds and rebuilt it. The palace is gorgeous and magnificent, and it is a famous temple along the river. Tour guide: The temple is composed of ancient buildings such as halls, halls, pavilions, buildings, houses, towers, and gardens, covering an area of 22,000 square meters. The three golden characters of "Yingjiang Temple" written by Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty are embedded on the mountain gate of Linjiang, which is strong, steady and splendid. The entrance ticket of white marble is inlaid with a relief of a four-clawed dragon. There are large iron anchors on the left and right of the mountain gate, weighing about 3 tons, which are not found in the temples. According to folklore, the terrain of Anqing is like a boat, and the tower is a mast. Stepping into the mountain gate is the Hall of Heavenly Kings. Maitreya Buddha sits in the shrine. The four heavenly kings are arranged on both sides with different expressions. Going up the 28th step, it is the Daxiong Hall with a plaque written by Zhao Puchu. In the back is the Pilu Hall, where the god Buddha Vairocana and the two heavenly kings, Disha and Dafan, are solemn and occupy the hall. The fourth hall is the Sutra Collection Building, which houses treasures such as the "Miaofa Lotus Sutra" given in gold by Emperor Guangzong of the Ming Dynasty and the sketch of the Avalokitesvara. There are nearly 500 statues of gods and Buddhas enshrined in the whole temple, as well as the golden plaques "Good Lion's Roar" and "Miaoming Garden Mirror" given by Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty and Empress Dowager Cixi.
