Not just snow museum
There are three nice museum in this place. The most famous one is the Snow Museum. Two others are Dyeing and Weaving Museums. Originally, we took a taxi from the Asahikawa train station there for the ...
It is a garden-style facility with a panoramic view of the city of Asahikawa. When I visited before, there was a Yukara Craft and Dyeing and Textile Museum with the theme of nature in Hokkaido, but now only the snow museum is open. A museum made with the theme of snow and ice, it is a building reminiscent of an old European castle, and the music hall had a fantastic atmosphere with ice corridors and snow crystal panels on display. It was very crowded.
The three buildings of "Yukaraori Craft Museum", "International Textile and Textile Museum", and "Snow Museum" are collectively called Hokkaido Traditional Craft Village. 10 When I visited a year ago, there were more than a dozen sightseeing buses parked in the parking lot. It was crowded with many people. This time, the sightseeing bus is only 1 and is lonely. Each building was unified in European style, and it was a wonderful craft village full of exotic feelings. Currently, only the "Snow Museum" is open, and other 2 facilities were closed.
It is a facility where you can learn about crafts such as dyeing and textiles, but among them, the snow museum was talked about as being similar to the castle that appeared in "Anna and the Snow Queen", and it was crowded. There is a shuttle bus from the center of Asahikawa, which is convenient to take it.
It was a place recommended by the guide, and it was a beautiful museum as if you were in Europe. The exterior is nice and they say they have a wedding in it. The restaurant inside is also very delicious (spaghetti, hamburger steak, omurice). I left it.
