Closed. Temporary???
Call first! We wasted a trip. Got there & parked. Noticed that the place looked completely abandoned. Trash everywhere. Grass a foot high. Walked to the visitors entrance. Rang the bell. No one. Us...
We tried to go in August. There is a sign on the door that it is closed. That's a shame as it is very old and, from reviews when it was open, would be a great place to visit.
This house is beautifully restored and lovingly maintained. The Christmas decorations were lovely. Our guide was wonderful. The tour was interesting and informative. I would highly recommend a visit.
