Poor upkeep
Humgous tombs that celebrate bahamani architecture are mostly ruins with zero maintenance and not so tourist friendly venue. Inadequate valuation by govt bodies has left a lot to be desired.
The royal necropolis of Ashtur outside Bidar has some impressive monuments and are worth the visit
There is a very good guidebook on Gulbarga,Bidar and Bijapur that was published by the Deccan Heritage Foundation and authored by Helen Philon.

It was a nice place to visit with friends and family...u can enjoy the architecte of India in earlier days over there.....
