Beautiful modern building sat on the banks of the Danube river, slightly further south than Gellert Hill and the other landmarks. It's a contemporary art museum with rotating exhibitions, which - from experience and reading reviews - seem to vary in content quite dramatically. Go and see if there's something that appeals to you, or simply admire the incredible architecture. Be warned - no English explanation, which would be beneficial.
The Ludwig Museum promises to always have compelling shows that accompany their exquisite permanent collection. Even if you're not an art fanatic, just wandering around the grounds and marveling at the modern architecture makes it worth the visit.
It is the only museum in Hungary dedicated exclusively to the collection and exhibition of contemporary art. It focuses on the interactivity and function of the exhibition space with eight or nine exhibitions each year. With a surface of 3.300 m2, it is developed in three plants and incorporated into the Müpa in 2005. Located outside the city, it is highlighted by its contemporary architecture and surroundings next to the river.
