I'm back from a trip around Yunnan, and I want to share some honest thoughts based on my personal experience
Here are some travel tips for you guys:
1. Don't go on a self-driving tour. The attractions in Yunnan are quite scattered, and parking is not easy. Driving yourself can be very tiring.
2. Don't join a tour group. There are many pitfalls with tour groups, and the pace is fast, so you won't enjoy yourself as much. Do your research online and you can have a great time traveling freely in Yunnan.
3. You must take a trip around Erhai Lake in Dali. Following the lake will connect you to all the scenic spots, and it's incredibly romantic and healing.
4. The food prices around Erhai Lake are quite expensive, so it's best to bring some snacks. When you're hungry, you can replenish your energy right away.
5. Don't go for the professional photography at the Gaozhuang Xingguang Night Market, as it's crowded and just a production line without much originality. You can rent an outfit and find many photo spots on your own.
6. Visit the Lijiang Ancient Town in the evening. You can see the charm of the ancient town during the day and the colorful lights at night, which are great for photos.
7. Definitely do not buy jewelry near the scenic areas. Many are fake imitations and not cheap.
8. Don't go to the Tianshengqiao Film and TV City. There's not much to see, and it's all about selling things, with heavy commercialization.
9. Book your tickets for the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in advance, otherwise, you'll have to queue for a long time to buy tickets on-site.
10. Allocate a full day for the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and try the glacier cable car, which takes you directly to the viewing platform at 4680 meters.
11. There are many airports in Yunnan. It's recommended to start at Kunming, where the transfer station is very convenient.
12. If you're not familiar with Yunnan, it's suggested to travel this route: Kunming - Dali - Lijiang - Lugu Lake - Shangri-La. This way, transportation is much more convenient.
13. Remember to bring your ID card and student ID. Many scenic spots require an ID card for entry, and student IDs offer various discounts.
14. Definitely do not trust the low-priced travel groups sold on the streets. There are many pitfalls, and you'll have more fun traveling freely with a good plan.
15. Don't buy the local specialties in the ancient towns. They are expensive and not tasty, and many are just one-off tourist traps.
16. The weather is very cold now, so make sure to wear enough clothes to avoid catching a cold from the trip.
17. Bring one or two bottles of oxygen and some cold medicine, especially when playing in the snow mountains, as it's easy to catch a cold. If you do catch a cold, don't go to the snow mountains again.
18. Book your hotel or homestay a day in advance to save time and for convenience.

The night market is the same across the country, with various snacks and souvenirs. The special thing here is the Dai costumes to take pictures. Many young ladies like to take pictures, and my little brother likes to watch. . . It is also next to the Lancang River, so the night view is beautiful, and it is quite pleasant to drink a little wine with the river breeze.
The Starlight Night Market under the Shwedagon Pagoda in Gaozhuang is full of people every night. It is spectacular to visit the night market and eat snacks, especially all kinds of costumed and photo-real people. In addition to ladies and children, there seem to be monks.
The Starlight Night Market in Xishuangbanna is near Gaozhuang. I have eaten a Dai-style lunch. In the evening, I wear Hani's characteristic ethnic costumes to take pictures in the night market. There is also a bar to drink wine. It is very atmospheric to listen to songs. It is a place full of mystery and enthusiasm. In this land, there is a lush rain forest full of the wonders of nature. At night, as the sunset gradually sinks down the mountain, the starlight night market emits a charming glow.

As night falls, Gaozhuang Xishuangjing Mekong Starlight Night Market in Jinghong City, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, is full of bright colors and visitors. Gaozhuang Xishuangjing Starlight Night Market is located in the south square of Dajinta Temple and the east and west streets of the square. Gaozhuang Xishuangjing most fascinating or romantic, in the brilliant lights listening to Buddha music to visit the night market. The night market in Gaozhuang Xishuangjing is very large. It can be said to be the largest night market in the world. It is adjacent to the Lancang River (Mekong River). At night, the cool river breeze blows, tastes delicious food, tropical fruits, and finds your favorite clothing, jewelry, and crafts, so that you completely forget the pressure of work. The trouble of life. In addition to Yi nationality's special crafts and food, there are special snacks from Southeast Asia in the night market. . Starlight Night Market is also a special night market in Gaozhuang Xishuangjing. Now enter Gaozhuang Xishuangjing Star Night Market, you need to scan the QR code of "Traveling to Gaozhuang" at the entrance to enter the night market and open a rich and varied nightlife.
20211206 1208:1, the bus can go directly to Gaozhuang Xishuangjing, there is also an advantage in the vicinity, this is the departure point of the through trains in Xishuangbanna scenic spots, the mode of traveling during the day and visiting the night market at night is very beautiful. 2. The Star Night Market is indeed the largest night market in Southeast Asia. It takes me 3 nights to go shopping and eat, subverting my understanding of the night market, and I have a endless aftertaste. 3. In the evening, from the residence, first pass the "three floors outside", that is, the stalls on the outside of the road, mainly fruit shops, barbecue stalls and selling houses (sales shops), supplemented by handicraft stalls. I thought this was the Starlight Night Market, so I found a barbecue stall to taste the food I hadn't eaten: pineapple rice, grilled fish, blood vine fruit, oysters, and heart fruit. On the roadside, you can rent a variety of fashionable and alternative transportation vehicles, and shuttle to the road to form a beautiful scenery. 4. After eating, cross the road, the colored door of the "Star Night Market" appeared, only to know that it was just outside, in fact, this is only entering the "middle third floor". The flow of people and stalls here are obviously dense, the variety and appearance of stalls start to increase, and the "photo shop" starts to increase. After walking to the end, I went to the reservation port of a scan code, and was told that going down the stairs was the main area of the Star Night Market. 5, after going down the stairs and walking through a long stall (also belonging to the "middle three floors") to the "middle three floors", one side is the magnificent Jinghong Shwedagon Pagoda, built in the modern, the tower is closed at night, the external tower is the night market commanding heights, the lights are surrounded by both quiet and dazzling; Down the stairs on one side is the three floors of the Star Night Market. From the top to the bottom, overlooking the night market, it is endless, like the cosmic starry river. No wonder it is named the Star Night Market. It is a great location for taking pictures and writing. The aunts, girls and photographers are densely packed. You can block the camera if you don't pay attention. I bought a coconut sand ice basket on the side of the road and tasted it. It was high-value and took pictures but it was not very tasty. It’s not early. I didn’t go down to the third floor and went back to the hotel. On the return trip, I tasted the barbecue stall on the third floor. I didn’t eat it: Buddha palm fruit, gold finger grapes, Lao coffee, all kinds of tropical vegetables I haven’t seen before (if you mix it together, you can’t tell who is who, It is recommended to fry separately). 6. The second and third nights came to visit the three floors. The main area of the night market is very large (there are many repeat stalls), and it is very lively. I am in the night market and turn into a dust in the galaxy. I tasted the remaining snacks I hadn't eaten: potato hollow dumplings, oyster dumplings (, iron plate tofu, pot potatoes, bamboo rice, coconut frozen, lemon chicken feet, chicken feet (most distinctive, not seen elsewhere), small spring powder, small spring powder (highly recommended), coconut sugar. 7. There are stages in the southeast and northwest of the night market, and the singing is constantly reeling. Sitting in the bar on the shore and enjoying the real lady on the boat has a special style. Since the Starlight Night Market is a national online celebrity punching place, the street is full of handsome men and women, sound, color, taste, I feel everything.
Overall environment: The scenic spot management is very good to enter, you must wear a mask and brush the QR code. Locals suggest that although the price is a bit more expensive than the riverside night market, it is still recommended to visit the Star Night Market. The riverside night market is for locals. There are more, and the management is not so standardized. Sometimes there will be messy things. Product evaluation: There are many shops, all kinds of small commodities, all kinds of food, at least 150 barbecue stalls are recommended to visit: open at 6:30, it is recommended to go in at 7:00, because 5:30~6:30, the bosses are all on the goods, and the middle aisles are all battery cars. It is very dangerous to drive.
