The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens

Of the 1,200 acres of the Sonoran Desert, 1,080 acres are undisturbed, and the remaining desert is not only a collection of exhibits but a nature preserve. The LivingDesert is a combined zoo and botanical garden with more than 450 animals, featuring endangered animals and desert plants. ‍The LivingDesert covers more than 250 acres and is home to a variety of animals including giraffes, cougars, wolves and leopards. On cool mornings, most animals are well active and can be seen playing, eating breakfast, stretching and pacing. Travel from the African village of Watutu to the Wildlife Hospital, stopping at the PaloVerde Garden Centre or a large G-scale model train. You can dine in the bistro or have a picnic and visit the wildlife exhibits.
