Alexander Column

The Alexander Column stands on the Winter Palace Square in St. Petersburg. It was built by Tsar Alexander in 1834 to commemorate the victory of the Russian-French War in 1812. The bronze base of the marble column is engraved with exquisite reliefs representing glory, dreams and victory. The marble column is 35 meters high. Top is the bronze angel statue.
