Superb location

Just south of St-Vaast on a peninsula is La Houge. When we were visiting, there were works going on at the tower so we could not go right around the Vauban fortress. If we had been able to go right ...

If your into recent history then worth a visit

One of two towers in this town strategically sited to defend the harbour from a sea bourne attack and well worth a walk around and up and down

Could be a nice hike...

...but the while place is now the home of a gypsie settlement... To be avoided unless you're fascinated with trailers, second hand Mercedes/bmw and satellite dishes.
