#Nordic adventure#The last stop of this trip - Savolinna. The landmark here is the castle of Ovila built in 1475, which is the world's most northerly medieval stone castle. Now it coincides with the Savolinna music festival in the castle, 98 euros a ticket
The castle is very close to the city center and can be reached on foot. In winter, I came with the group on Saturday. If I came by myself, the ticket was 2 euros after the discount. On the day of the visit, the castle had a new marriage and was setting up the venue. There is an English interpreter in the castle. If you like the medieval castle, you must not miss it. This castle is built at the mouth of the river to defend against foreign enemies from the river into Finland. Usually there are not many people, suitable for literary youth to take pictures, it is recommended to see in summer, the scenery will be more beautiful!
The castle was originally built on the Swedish border with Russia as a fortification against Russia. But due to the constant changes in the border line, the castle is now far from Russia. The whole castle was renovated once in 1959-1975.
Come once a year, because here is my closest people, the most beautiful scenery, the best place to rest!
