We were pleasantly surprised!
I could have easily spent 2 hours here walking around but since we needed to head towards to the hotel, we just spent around an hour. This place pleasantly surprised us. No tourist book talked about...
It is a familiar "column joint" in a certain TV program. The slope of the road down to the sea is steep and it is so narrow that only one person can walk, so it is necessary to walk by giving up each other. You can see it from the coast, but I think it's easier to understand because it gives a three-dimensional view from above, so I thought I didn't have to force it to get off.
When you head toward the lighthouse from the park in Tsumegizaki, there is a place to see the scenery first, and a heart mark is made. From there, walk to the railing and look toward the coast to see this Tawara Iso. It seems that you can walk down, but I think it's just when you don't have physical strength.
It's strange that it becomes such a beautiful hexagonal pillar! It's lined up in an orderly manner. I've seen columnar joints elsewhere, but this was the first time.
It is a rare terrain on the coast of Tsumegizaki. The lava managed to do something, and there was also a signboard for explanation. It's a geopark in Izu.
