Mausoleum of tragic emperor
During the battle of Dannoura, Emperor Antoku, whose mother is the daughter of Taira family, the loser of the battle, went into water and lost his life. This is the mausoleum of this tragic emperor.

In the Heian period, when power broke out and lost in the 7-year Genpei War, the shrine built by Emperor Antoku, 8, and his grandmother jumped into the sea together to commemorate his death is Akama Jingu. The tomb of Emperor Antoku is located in Akama Jingu Shrine, and it is said that he holds a ritual to honor Emperor Antoku every May.

Emperor Antoku died when he was slightly full ６ when he was defeated in the battle of Dannoura and was hugged by the second nun and entered the water. There was this mausoleum next to Akama Jingu, which enshrines Emperor Antoku. The colors were flashy, and unlike Akama Jingu, which was crowded with many worshipers, few people visited. Just the closed gate on the stone steps made me feel the story of tragedy.
