Bukit Timah Nature Reserve is one of the larger primary forest reserves in Singapore, with more species of trees than the entire North America. Visitors can enjoy colorful and precious birds, monkeys flying among the trees and rare carnivorous plants. They can enjoy a comfortable picnic with a bird's-eye view of the whole of Singapore from the highest point in Singapore - Bukit Timah Mountain at an altitude of 162.5 meters. Bukit Timah Hill is a famous mountain in Singapore. Although it is a small mound compared to foreign mountains, it is supreme in the eyes of Singaporeans. As the saying goes, the mountain is not high, but the immortal is the name. What is the "immortal" of Bukit Timah Hill? Only those who have been there know. Bukit Timah Hill was about 12 kilometers away from the city and was a rather remote and long road at that time. Today, there are shopping malls, shops and residential areas on both sides of Bukit Timah Road, and the foothills of Bukit Timah Hill have also become private apartments and high-end residential areas. The road up the mountain is called the High Sheed Pass, and the people who live here are so close to nature. You can see groups of monkeys at the entrance, and there are official notice boards that prohibit feeding monkeys and fines. The monkeys here still retain their original wildness, so don't approach them easily to avoid injury. Other special animals are flying lemurs and squirrels, and you can also see many precious birds, including thorax, peacebird, swallowtail and nightingale. After entering the reserve, you can first come to the visitor center to see taxidermy and many amazing forest photos. The road up the mountain in close contact with nature is not long, but it is very steep. It is still a challenge for people who lack exercise and face computers in the office all day. On the hill, the road becomes smoother. On both sides of the road are dense tropical rain forests, with low trees and shrubs, weeds and vines, and tall trees that block the sky. After reaching the top of the mountain, you can also overlook the whole of Singapore, and the scenery is quite pleasant. The footsteps down the mountain are much lighter. There is an exhibition hall at the foot of the mountain, which displays and records the history of Bukit Timah Mountain. It is mentioned that tigers were discovered here in 1930, and they were soon wiped out. If you are interested, you can take a look. Since there is no canteen on the mountain, you should bring some mineral water before going up the mountain, or bring a plastic bottle to fill up with water down the mountain. In addition, you can bring some dry food, or have a picnic on the top of the mountain is also a good choice.
Bukit Timah SummitSingapore 🇸🇬 Bukit Zhima Natural Reserve is a hill near the center of Singapore's main island, with an altitude of 163.63 meters, the highest point in Singapore! 👍🤩 Natural oxygen bar, a good place to check in for sports 🏕💦🏃♀️
Good for trekking and nature vibes . The starting can be tough as the path is steep and long way , before we reach the 1st hut(rest area) . From 1st hut to 2nd hut and then need to climb up long stairs(its not that tough so just do at our own pace and it will be fun) or alternative way you can walk up/down the path next to the stairs . Either way you will finally reach the summit ! 🤗
Bukit Zhima Natural Reserve is a natural park, a very large area, the whole reserve has planted a lot of vegetation resources, there are quite a lot of animals here, the natural plants and forest lakes in the reserve are worth visiting.
The trail leading to the top of Bukit Timah is not long but quite steep. It is definitely a nice place for a good exercise in nature. It may be quite crowded on weekends.
