Walk across the Great Mississippi - a moment to last a lifetime
Took a bit of driving, navigation, and determination to get here (road signage was not overly easy through parts of the Ithaca Forest, but super easy from the Car Park), but we felt it was worth it. ...
Beautiful full of history
We went in the winter and it was solid frozen where we were able to stand where the river begins. Very beautiful and worthy visiting any season.
Cool Historical Spot
Fun to say you’ve been to where the Mighty Mississippi begins. Beautiful area and fun to explore. Worth taking the time to visit when in the area.

Very nice area. Got to see the start of where the Mississippi River starts. A lot calmer than you would expect. Nice scenery around.

Absolutely beautiful Minnesota State Park! Be sure to take a ride on the boat tour of the area, you won't be sorry! So much to do that is dog friendly, so go ahead and go all aboard with Fido!! Enjoy!
