There was a resident on the island who was responsible for maintaining the lighthouse. On the day we visited there were 2 fishermen and our small tour group. The short trek through the forest was pleasant and the bats were great. Our guide was knowledgeable and spoke good English. You will never get the chance to see the interior of the lighthouse as well as this, and the view is spectacular. Snorkeling is great and the beach is full of beautiful shells. Be prepared for the original conditions on the boat. Don’t forget the hats and sunscreen. We enjoyed freshly caught boiled fish, rice and fresh coconut on the island's trees, but this may not suit everyone's taste, so bring your own snacks and water. Bring a waterproof bag with camera and mobile phone.

The lighthouse is a very old lighthouse built on the island. You need to take a boat tour of it. Please note that you are located in eastern Madagascar and the Indian Ocean is usually very choppy. The sea is deep because it is at the entrance to the port of Tamataf. Don't swim too far because there are sharks. My visit was arranged with the Tamataf Regional Tourism Office. I enjoyed the view of the lighthouse.
