Tengchong Museum

Tengchong is a multi-ethnic place to live, but their language and clothing and living habits are completely different. Every year on the eighth day of the lunar calendar, the place where the Yi people gather in Tengchong, they have to hold a knife pole festival, where the Yi men will go up the knife mountain and go down the fire. Tengchong rattan instrument production has been more than a thousand years of history, Tang Dynasty poet Bai Juyi wrote the poem of Tengchong red cane stick. But the rattan has been harvested for years, and it is rare in the country, and most of it is now imported from Myanmar. The bronze bell made during the Ming Dynasty period has a surprising historical story. In May 1942, Japanese invaders occupied Tengchong, and in September 1944, the 20th Army of the Chinese Expeditionary Army counterattacked Teng. The battle of Tengchong entered the white-hot stage. When the expeditionary army attacked the temple, the Japanese army used the bronze bell as a bunker, and cut a machine gun hole with a diameter of 6 cm in the middle and lower part of the bell body. The bell body was centered on the shooting hole, leaving our army with bullet marks around, and the bell body inscription was damaged more than ten words.
