Queen Sofia Palace of Arts

The City of Arts and Sciences was built on the dried-up riverbed of the Turia River in Valencia. The entire building complex includes the Planetarium, Prince Philip Science Palace, Palace of Arts, Marine Park, Botanical Garden, etc. The shark skeleton-inspired design also makes the City of Arts and Sciences one of the outstanding examples of modern architecture. Designed by Valencia-based architect Santiago Calatrava, construction began in 1996 and covers an area of 350,000 square meters. This group of bizarre and graceful buildings is lined up majestically from north to south, and the large-area water surface design is even more wonderful, making these buildings seem like dream islands floating in the ocean.
