Operating since 2011, the Gaia cable car connects the upper deck of the Luís I Bridge (next to Jardim do Morro metro) and Cais de Gaia (Next to the Cais de Gaia Municipal Market). The route is 600 metres long and the difference in elevation between the two terminals is 58.5 metres. The 5-minute ride offers spectacular views of the mouth of Douro River, historic centre of Porto on one side and Gaia port wine cellars on the other side of the river bank.
