At various times it was part of the Kingdom of Poland, the Kingdom of Bohemia, the Kingdom of Hungary, the Habsburg Monarchy, Prussia and Germany. Wrocaw was again part of Poland in 1945 due to changes in the post-World War II borders, including a complete exchange of population. Wrocaw has numerous historical landmarks including the main market square, Cathedral Island and the Centennial Memorial.
