Photos of Putuo Zongcheng Temple

The Putuo Zongcheng Temple is located on the north side of Shizi Valley in Hebei's Chengde City. Built in the form of Lhasa's Potala Palace by Qianlong to celebrate the life of his mother as well as his own, people still call it "Little Potala Palace." The whole temple complex is divided into two parts, front and rear. The main structure of the temple is the Dahongtai, with the Wanfa Guiyi Hall inside the primary hall of the temple. Putuo Zongcheng Temple is a gate to the mountains behind it. A mix of Qing- and Tibetan-style architecture, there is a Tibetan-style, three-round-door white entrance building upon which a five-gated, yellow-glazed tiled pavilion is built.
