Today, my family and I went to Lake Cisanti (Situ Cisanti). The trip took almost 3 hours and for the first time, I got motion sickness (almost hit the jackpot but not today!) due to the–literally–rocky and bumpy road. However, on our way we had to pass a tea plantation. The view was amazing and we passed a number of old buildings and plantation houses that date from the late 1800s to the early 1900s (during the Dutch colonial era).
The lake is pretty big, yet is not that deep. There are several springs around the lake at which water flows. It is also the headwater of Citarum River, the longest river in West Java. Lake Cisanti is surrounded by pine forest, which is also home to an eucalyptus grove. We explored the lake using a military inflatable boat and as we were about to end the exploration, I saw an isle inhabited by bunnies! Too bad the boat went too fast so I wasn't able to take some photos of the rabbits.
