If your trip to Oudtshoorn isn't just about visiting the ostrich farm, but also want to experience an African safari, Buffelsdrift Game Lodge is the perfect place to make your overnight stay an integral part of your trip.

Lodge is located approximately 6.5 kilometers from Oudtshoorn, at the foot of the Swartberg Mountains in the Klein Karoo area, and boasts a 5-hectare body of water at the heart of the property, offering a distinctly different atmosphere from typical hotels.

🏕️ Tents in Nature, Yet Incredibly Comfortable Inside

This is luxury tented accommodation. The tents are built on wooden floors, giving the feeling of staying in an African camp, but inside they feature king or twin beds, en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning, minibars, and complete amenities.

Especially the Luxury Waterhole Tent, located right by the water, with a private balcony where you can relax and watch the animals around the waterhole from your tent.

From the pictures, the accommodation appears simple and blends seamlessly with nature, not the opulent decor of a city hotel. But the real highlight is opening the door and being greeted by mountains, bushes, and natural landscapes all around.

The views are especially stunning in the morning and evening. The light gradually changes on the mountain range and the Klein Karoo landscape, while the waterhole becomes a relaxing spot to enjoy nature.

If you choose a room near the water, you can sit on the deck with a cool drink and watch for animals coming to the water's edge.

เช้าวันหนึ่งที่ Buffelsdrift Game Lodge เป็นช่วงเวลาที่ได้ใกล้ชิดกับช้างแบบที่แตกต่างจากการชมสัตว์ทั่วไป เพราะครั้งนี้เราไม่ได้มองพวกมันจากระยะไกลบนรถ Safari แต่ได้ออกมาเดินในพื้นที่ธรรมชาติ พร้อมทีมดูแลที่คอยให้ความรู้และดูแลความปลอดภัยตลอดกิจกรรม

บรรยากาศในตอนเช้าสวยมาก ท้องฟ้าเปิดสลับกับก้อนเมฆ และพื้นที่รอบ ๆ เป็นภูมิประเทศกึ่งแห้งแล้งที่มีพุ่มไม้เตี้ย ๆ กระจายอยู่ทั่วบริเวณ ยิ่งได้เห็นช้างเดินอยู่ท่ามกลางธรรมชาติแบบนี้ ยิ่งรู้สึกว่าพวกมันดูยิ่งใหญ่กว่าที่เคยเห็นในสวนสัตว์หลายเท่า

ช่วงที่ประทับใจที่สุดคือการได้ยืนอยู่ใกล้ช้างในระดับสายตา เห็นรายละเอียดของผิวหนัง งวง หู และงาที่ชัดมาก บางตัวเดินเข้ามาใกล้จนสามารถสังเกตพฤติกรรมได้แบบใกล้ ๆ ขณะที่บางช่วงก็ได้เห็นพวกมันเดินไปตามพื้นที่ กินอาหาร หรือเข้าหาแหล่งน้ำตามธรรมชาติ

อีกหนึ่งโมเมนต์ที่ชอบมากคือการได้เห็นช้างหลายตัวอยู่รวมกัน ทั้งภาพที่พวกมันเดินเรียงกันและการเข้าหากันของสมาชิกในกลุ่ม ทำให้กิจกรรมนี้ไม่ได้มีแค่ความตื่นเต้น แต่ยังได้เห็นพฤติกรรมของช้างในบรรยากาศที่เป็นธรรมชาติด้วย

ลอดถ้ำสุดเอ็กซ์ตรีม 🪨

หนึ่งในประสบการณ์ที่ทำให้คำว่า “เที่ยวถ้ำ” เปลี่ยนไปจากเดิมเลยคือที่ Cango Caves ถ้ำหินปูนชื่อดังในแอฟริกาใต้

ครั้งนี้ไม่ได้มาแค่เดินชมโพรงถ้ำหรือดูหินงอกหินย้อย แต่เป็นการเข้าไปสัมผัสเส้นทางแบบผจญภัย ที่บางช่วงต้อง คลาน ลอด และเบียดตัวผ่านช่องหินแคบ ๆ เรียกได้ว่าใช้ทั้งแรงกายและความกล้าไปพร้อมกัน 😆

ภาพนี้คือหนึ่งในจังหวะที่เห็นชัดมากว่าทางบางช่วงนั้นแคบจริง ๆ ต้องก้มตัวและค่อย ๆ ลอดผ่านไปทีละคน รอบตัวเต็มไปด้วยผนังหินธรรมชาติและความมืดของถ้ำ ทำให้บรรยากาศแตกต่างจากการเที่ยวถ้ำทั่วไปอย่างสิ้นเชิง

If you mean the Cango Caves, they’re one of South Africa’s most spectacular natural attractions, located near Oudtshoorn in the Western Cape, about 4 hours from Cape Town by road.

The caves are famous for their enormous limestone chambers, dramatic stalactites and stalagmites, and ancient underground formations. Some chambers are so large that they feel like underground cathedrals.

Why visit?
