老二连:“To get to Annecy, you must first go to the old town. The Hugh River, which comes from the western mountains, flows through the entire old town and flows into Lake Annecy in front of the town hall. The main streets of the old town are on both sides of the Hugh River. Many buildings were built from the 12th to the 17th century and are well preserved. The ancient cobblestone roads still look like they did in the Middle Ages, and most of them have been opened up as pedestrian streets.
The small streets along the river are full of open-air cafes, souvenir shops, hotels and restaurants, and the arcades of the buildings and the bridges across the river are full of flowers. The conical palace "Isle Palace" on the central island of the Hugh River and the Annecy Castle on the high slope at the end of the main street of the old town, Saint Clair Street, are both iconic ancient buildings in Annecy. They, together with the small streets, flowing water, flowers and tourists in the city, constitute a strong tourist landscape of the old town of Annecy.”

The Island Palace was originally the residence of the lord of Annecy, and soon became the administrative headquarters of the Count of Geneva. Later, it became a court, mint and prison. Now there is a small museum here to showcase the local history.”
