Take the park shuttle bus, which loops between all four main viewpoints: Binggou, Qicai (the classic “Sunset Hill”), Yuguang, and Danxia Scenic Area. Try to catch both sunrise and sunset if you can; the colors really pop at these golden hours. 📸 Must-Do Activities & Top Photo Spots: Hike up to Platform 1 and Platform 4 for wide-angle shots of the most vibrant ridges. The “Rainbow Ridges” near Qicai Viewing Platform are the most iconic (your insta-feed will thank you!). I’m at one of the most unusual places I’ve found in China. It still feels fresh and uncrowded, though I think it may become very popular in the next two or three years. This is Qilian Mountain in Gansu Province. It is suitable for senior citizens and families with children. Best of all, the altitude is not as high as in Yunnan or Sichuan. There is no need to hike here—you can take an escalator up and a roller coaster down.
