🎦Liu Village Tomb Group

Located 200 meters southwest of Liu Village, Ningjin Street, Rongcheng City, Weihai City, Shandong Province, it is an ancient site from the Yuan Dynasty. The following is a detailed introduction to it:

Basic Overview: The Liu Village Tomb Group originally covered an area of 13 acres, with thirty or forty stone tombs. There are 10 stone tombs from the Yuan Dynasty, of which 7 are well preserved and 3 only have bases. The stone tomb is built of granite and is in the shape of a &quot;spinning top&quot;. It consists of a tomb tower plate, a tower body, and a tower crown, with a unique shape.

Historical Origin: According to the &quot;Stone Tomb Stele-Record&quot; in the west of the village, during the Yuan Dynasty from 1335 to 1340, Cheng Baitong, the first ancestor of the Cheng family, moved here from Luoyang, Henan Province and settled in the village. Because the place is surrounded by mountains and rivers, with beautiful mountains and clear waters, it is a unique Feng Shui treasure land. The descendants of the Cheng family have lived here forever for generations, so it is named Liu Village.

Integration of Buddhism and nomadic culture: The above-ground part of the Liucun Stone Tomb Group is divided into three parts: the tower base, the tower body, and the tower top, reflecting the influence of Buddhism; at the same time, it was also influenced by the nomadic life customs in the north during the Jin and Yuan Dynasties. This integration is relatively unique in the form of tombs.

Outstanding regional characteristics: As far as we know, this type of stone tomb is only distributed in the Jiaodong Peninsula, especially in the east of Kunyu Mountain. The Guangxu edition of Wendeng County Chronicles in the Qing Dynasty records that &quot;the mountains and streams are winding, the ancient tombs are barren, and there are many of them in the Yuan Dynasty.&quot;

Exquisite artistic decoration: The construction of the stone tomb is not lacking in artistic decoration. There are three-dimensional carvings of sitting lions and figures on the base. There are many stone tablets between the stone carvings, which are embossed with flowers, plants, and animal patterns. The lotus petal patterns carved in relief can still be clearly seen on some waist rings.

Value and significance: In May 2013, the Liucun Stone Tomb Group was announced by the State Council of the People&#39;s Republic of China as the seventh batch of national key cultural relics protection units. It provides a clear time and space framework for the study of burial customs in family cemeteries of the Yuan Dynasty, and has great historical, scientific and artistic value.

🎦Gu Mu&#39;s Former Residence

Historical origin: Gu Mu&#39;s Former Residence was built during the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty, with a history of more than 200 years. It is a typical Jiaodong traditional quadrangle-style seaweed house.

Architectural layout: The renovated old residence covers an area of 408 square meters, divided into two courtyards in the north and south, with a total of 20 rooms. The north courtyard restored the scenes of Gu Mu&#39;s reading and life in his youth, and the south courtyard set up an exhibition room for Gu Mu&#39;s life and deeds, which is divided into &quot;For the Birth of New China&quot;, &quot;Taking the Leading Position of Economic Construction&quot;, &quot;Pioneer of Reform and Opening Up&quot; and &quot;Hometown Feelings, Family Feelings and Friendship&quot;.

Exhibited items: A total of more than 300 old objects and souvenirs of various types are exhibited, and Comrade Gu Mu&#39;s office is restored. Office desks and chairs, sofas, briefcases, red confidential telephones and other objects are arranged as they were.

Honorary Titles: It has been awarded the title of Shandong Provincial Party History Education Base, Weihai City Patriotism Education Base, and Weihai City-level Cultural Relics Protection Unit.
