Lake Kawaguchi Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
I specifically flew to Japan for the maple corridor under Mount Fuji
Hi, I am 11🍁
Finally came to Japan to see the maple leaves! The red of the maple leaf corridor at Lake Kawaguchi is really like a scene in a Japanese anime, taken on November 19, the maple leaves are still red and yellow gradient, it is estimated that there are 2 weeks of viewing period.
.
The entire maple leaf corridor is not long, the branches on both sides form a natural arch. Under the sunlight, the maple leaves and ginkgo are shining, really like a Japanese anime.
.
It is recommended to rent an electric bicycle when you come to the maple leaf corridor, and the scenery along the way is also very beautiful. Depart from Lake Kawaguchi Station and ride along Lake Kawaguchi Bridge. The round trip is 9 kilometers, and it is not tiring to play and ride.
.
🚴♀️Rental suggestions
▫️Rent a car early, start queuing around 9 o'clock
▫️There are many uphill roads along the way, choose electric bicycles to save effort‼️
▫️There are many rental shops near Lake Kawaguchi Station, Google Map search "bike rental", rent a car nearby
▫️The shop where I rent a car is "81cake", 100 meters to the right of the station, the bicycle is very good-looking
.
🍁Play suggestions
▫️Maple leaf viewing time is late November to early December
▫️11 am and 3 pm, the sunlight is softer
▫️It is recommended to wear light-colored clothes to avoid the same color as the scenery
▫️One-day tour can arrange the maple leaf corridor in the morning, and the new warehouse Shanjian Shrine and Hikawa watch in the afternoon.
.
I hope everyone can see the red maple leaves🍁

Mount Fuji {No check-in} Day Tour
🚌Shinjuku Station Round trip Kawaguchiko Station
✨Tips:
1. Buy round-trip bus tickets online in advance! One-way 2200JPY/person
I bought the ticket a week in advance after referring to the 'Fujimi Forecast' on Google for the visibility of Mount Fuji. At that time, tickets for early departures were sold out. If you have high requirements for the completion of the plan, be sure to buy in advance!
2. Not only Shinjuku Station, but also Shibuya Station, Akihabara, etc., can be chosen according to proximity (accommodation location).
📍Kawaguchiko Tenjo-yama Park
The park is perfect for hiking up and down the mountain during the maple leaf season! It takes about an hour to walk one way, stop and take pictures. If you have plenty of time and are willing to climb the mountain, it is highly recommended
Stop searching! The complete guide to visiting Lake Kawaguchi is here
Lake Kawaguchi is one of the Fuji Five Lakes, and it offers great views in different seasons. Moreover, Lake Kawaguchi is well developed. After reading my content, you can enjoy Lake Kawaguchi like a nanny.
🚘Transportation: There are two ways to get to Lake Kawaguchi, one is by bus or train. My suggestion is to take the bus, which is direct and cheaper, around 100 RMB. You can buy it at the long-distance bus station at Shinjuku Station.
⛩️Attractions: There are many hot spring hotels around Lake Kawaguchi, and choosing a hot spring hotel is a good choice. In addition, you can visit Asama Shrine. When you get off at Lake Kawaguchi, you will see the popular convenience store in the second picture. Also, the boat tour of Lake Kawaguchi is worth a try.
💰Cost: If you choose to return on the same day, the daily cost may be around 200 RMB for transportation and about 300 RMB for attractions.
Tour Time: It is recommended to take the earliest bus to get there, so the queue will be less. If you plan to return on the same day, 6-8 hours is recommended.

Japan travel recommendation for photo spots at the foot of Mount Fuji 🗻📷
Image 1-6: (Lakefront outside the Mokuhankan Art Museum at Lake Kawaguchi, navigable on the north bank of Lake Kawaguchi)
On the lakeside trail on the north bank of Lake Kawaguchi, there are steps leading to the lake. Personally, I like the sense of the picture taken by the photographer from a distance with a telephoto lens, where the characters blend into the scene, creating a contrast between the magnificent Mount Fuji and the miniature figures.
I really love this spot, where there are rows of cherry blossom trees along the trail. When they are in full bloom, the cherry blossoms 🌸 nearby and Mount Fuji in the distance make for a stunning cover photo.
There is also a coffee shop here. If you have enough time, you can enjoy a cup of coffee here and quietly appreciate the beautiful moment of gazing at Mount Fuji.
.
Image 7-9: (Rikawa Clock Shop)
When using a telephoto lens, the image can be compressed, making Mount Fuji appear very close and spectacular.
However, I don't really recommend this location as there are a lot of cars and people, and there are currently two traffic administrators guarding the area, making it difficult to take photos.
.
Image 10-11: (Lawson convenience store)
Not sure who was the first to discover this place, but there are definitely eyes👀 that can appreciate its beauty. It's just hard to take pictures with all the traffic.
.
There are also several classic places that we didn't get to visit.
Fuji Asama Shrine in Shinzan, Tenkuu Karuizawa, Reagan-ya, and Makaino Farm, didn't have enough time to visit them all, will go again next time.
.
At the foot of Mount Fuji, there are various cherry blossom viewing spots: the fifth station, Oishi Park, Gassho Village, Shiraito Falls, hot spring hotels, etc.
If you wnat to take a visit in cherry blossom season, you can take photos at these places.

Wonderful view of Mt Fuji!
Visited Oishi park to try to see Mt Fuji.. it was a cloudy day but thankfully the shy Fuji-San appeared for a brief moment at the end of the 45min visit there!
Best weather for Mount Fuji
We were blessed with great weather when we were in Japan. Seeing Mount Fuji so clearly makes the trip so much more worthwhile. #mustvisit #mustdo #mountfuji #japan
Oishi Park
Oishi park is just near the Kawaguchiko Natural Living Center. This scenic park in Fujikawaguchiko Town features views of both the lake and of Mt. Fuji. Since this is nature trip, you can see different kind of plants and trees, but i look for a japanese maple leaf tree. We travelled here October so the mount Fuji's top is not yet white or iced, and the plants were still green, so if you come to visit this in the near future, either winter or spring time, or fall. This road trip takes us whole day, we leave Tokyo at 8am, we came back to hotel at almost midnight. How to get here? Train for more than an hour, then bus 30-45 minutes. This are have restaurants, playgrounds for kids, and of course good for photography or picture taking. Seems sp far, but worth the travel.

Saiko Iyashi-no-Sato Nenba (Traditional Japanese Village) Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Saiko Iyashino- Sato Nenba
I am so obsessed with this area and I stay there for four days also barely cover half of it ( but my ways of covering is slowly and thoroughly) .
Most of the area will be covered by three different routes of sightseeing buses
1. Red - near kawaguchiko around and every 20 mins interval
2. Green - loop a bit further until saiko and every hourly
3. Blue - cover unit shojiko and every two hourly .
So , depend on your interest, you can choose to go . And by payment they have few options
- two days sightseeing bus unlimited is 1500¥
- can use IC card , just tap and tap out and pay as shown in the screen and
- also you can pay by cash , but won’t change extra ( so be ready amount )
And today I went to Saiko Iyashino-Sato Nenba. , old Japanese traditional houses and something like Gifu ( shirakawago) and the Mian highlight is can see Mount Fuji on clear day , but today she is playing high and seek with me 🤭🤭. After that , I walked along lane Saiko - no tourist at all and some local people fishing around and chill their life 😝😆!!
If you are in kawaguchiko area , make sure you take those sightseeing buses and enjoy the surroundings. See you all on the other side of the world 🌎!!

A beautiful traditional village!
If you are looking to visit a traditional Japanese village and a great Mt Fuji view - Saiko Iyashus would be your great choice.
The admission fee to the village was 500 yen per adult. All structures and/or hut of the villages had been converted into souvenir stores, art gallery/craft shops and restaurant. For Muslim friends, there is restaurant serving halal Japanese food and a place for prayer too.
Overall it was an amazing experience.
Traditional Japanese village
#2024wish Mesmerizing!!!! With the view of Mt. Fuji in the background….you’ll be out of words. Try to visit on weekdays so you can enjoy its beauty with only few people exploring around. They also have rentals if you want to try on Japanese traditional clothings during the old time. Thatched roofed houses were really incredible. The craftsmanship they used were so fascinating! Try to see it yourself. Recommendable👍🏼
I wish to visit more in 2024
Traditional Japanese Village
#2024wish
Saiko Iyashi-no-Sato Nenba tourist village is built near the lake. The entrance to this collection is 500 yen. This village was built on the remains of the old village that was destroyed by a landslide in 1966. The houses are built in the old style and each of them refers to a specific theme. Some of them are also dedicated to craft stores. For people who like to see traditional Japanese houses and enjoy opening and closing sliding doors and windows, this place will definitely be interesting to visit
I want to visit this place in 2024 again.

Fuji Shibazakura Festival Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Shocking purple and pink flower sea | Shibazakura Festival at the foot of Mount Fuji in Japan
The Cherry Blossom Festival is one of my personal favorite Japanese festivals. The Shibazakura Festival at the foot of Mount Fuji in Japan is an annual flower viewing event and also the largest cherry blossom sea in Tokyo. From April 15th to May 28th, 2023, about 500,000 cherry blossoms will bloom here, and the white and pink flower sea will be set off against the majestic Mount Fuji, which is extremely beautiful. This is the largest place in Tokyo where moss and liverwort bloom in patches. In addition to the "Fukurokoke" moss garden, there are also various colorful flowers blooming. Various traditional theatrical performances and handicrafts allow you to experience the rich Japanese cultural atmosphere. During the event, in addition to enjoying the flowers, there is also a food festival on site, where you can enjoy various local delicacies. In addition to cherry blossoms, there are also various other flower species on site, forming a real flower sea. Tourists participating in the event can choose light-colored clothing that matches the cherry blossoms for taking photos. When I stand in the cherry blossom sea, surrounded by pink, the endless scenery makes my mind light and my heart joyful, but also makes me intoxicated and unable to return to reality for a long time. From tender pink to fresh oak red, different cherry blossom varieties sway gently in the wind, forming a hazy and graceful watercolor, as beautiful as a painting. It complements the mountains and rivers. The cherry blossoms at the foot of Mount Fuji, set off by the blue sky and white clouds, blend with the distant mountains, and this ingenious natural scenery makes people unable to forget it for a long time.
🚄Transportation guide: It takes about 2 hours by bus or train from Tokyo to reach the Shibazakura Festival. The bus and train stations are very close to the event area, which is very convenient.
Fuji Shibazakura Festival
🏩Accommodation guide: Hotel prices are higher during the event, so it is recommended to book in advance. You can choose to stay at a hot spring hotel a little further away from the activity center and enjoy the fun of cherry blossoms and hot springs at the same time.
🍽Food recommendation: Many local restaurants have launched cherry blossom cuisine and drinks, worth a try. Such as cherry blossom cake, cherry blossom pasta, cherry blossom champagne, etc. Various izakayas and food alleys are also gathered here, with a wide variety of food options.
💵Admission: Admission to the Cherry Blossom Festival is free, but some park areas and viewing points require tickets, priced between 500-1000 yen. Some traditional performances also require additional ticket purchases.
⏰Best viewing time: April 15th (Sat), 2023 to May 28th (Sun)
📍Address: 212 Moto-Susono, Fujikawaguchiko-machi, Minamitsuru-gun, Yamanashi 401-0337, Japan
⚠️Other reminders:
1. The best viewing time is from mid-April to early May, and it is necessary to pay attention to the cherry blossom blooming forecast in advance.
2. During the festival period, there will be a large flow of people. It is recommended to book transportation and accommodation at least half a month in advance.
3. The weather changes a lot, so bring rain gear and warm clothing. Also prepare a comfortable pair of walking shoes.
4. Respect local culture and follow the rules and regulations of the event site. Keep the area clean and tidy.
Overall, mid-April is the flower season in Japan, and the foot of Mount Fuji, where cherry blossoms bloom, is a must-visit place. As the largest flower viewing event in the area, the Shibazakura Festival not only offers unforgettable scenery, but also allows visitors to experience the rich traditional Japanese culture and various delicious food and drinks. If there is a chance, I also eagerly look forward to coming here in person to enjoy the seasonal beauty and joyful atmosphere.
Fuji shiba sakura festival
Every year from mid-April to late May, the Fuji Motosu Lake Resort in Yamanashi Prefecture holds the Fuji Shibazakura Festival, where the various shades of pink Moss Phlox fill the area like a carpet.
The combination of the beautiful remaining snow on Mount Fuji, a World Heritage Site, and the 500,000 Moss Phlox plants, the largest in the Tokyo metropolitan area, is a beautiful sight that is perfect for Instagram. It is a springtime sight unique to Yamanashi. At the same time as the Fuji Shibazakura Festival, the Mt. Fuji Delicious Food Festival is also held, where you can enjoy a variety of events and gourmet food around Mt. Fuji.
Area: Mt. Fuji and Fuji Five Lakes
Category: Sports and recreation facilities/parks and green spaces

There will be many takeaway shops and food trucks where you can try irresistible "curry bread" with its chewy dough and secret curry roux!
You can enjoy the pitch black "Mt. Fuji Lava Fried Chicken" inspired by the lava of Mt. Fuji,
the "Kikyō Shingen Mochi Soft Serve" topped with Kikyō Shingen Mochi,
and the "Fujiyama Honey Castella", a baby castella cake in the shape of Mt. Fuji, which is made with plenty of honey.
Access
The Fujikyu Line is 26.6 km long and runs from Otsuki Station to Kawaguchiko Station.
From Otsuki Station, the line approaches Mt. Fuji, with an elevation difference of about 500 m.
Mt. Fuji became a World Heritage Site in 2013, and the Fuji Five Lakes area is popular with tourists and climbers.

Flower fields at the foot of Mount Fuji
Every year, for a few short weeks, the fields at the foot of Fuji turn into a magnificent pink-white-purple carpet against the background of a mountain with a snow-capped peak, creating a stunning contrasting landscape.
What to do
To see the flowering of 520 thousand phlox
Evaluate the combination of shades of eight different varieties of phlox
Admire the flowers and Mount Fuji by dipping your feet into the waters of a hot spring
How to get
You can do this on autopilot from the Kawaguchiko company.
Arrival at Kawaguchiko station, transfer to a car, which is at the station for about 30 minutes. If you have opted out of the car, then the trip will take about 25 minutes from Kawaguchiko's trip.
It is interesting
The Fuji Phlox Festival is held in the Five Lakes area, near Lake Motosuko
Under certain weather conditions, the festival falls on a series of public holidays — the Golden Week
The full name of the flower is phlox awl—shaped
A rare species
Cherry blossoms are the quintessence of spring in Japan: everywhere you can see trees in bloom. At the same time, flower fields are much rarer. The Fuji Phlox Festival is visited every year by thousands of people who want to admire the short-lived but vivid natural wonder. As a rule, this happens from mid-April to the end of May.
The best time to visit the park is in the early morning. At the same time, we do not recommend coming on weekends and public holidays.
Get into the taste
During the phlox festival, the park also hosts a delicious food festival — dozens of pavilions and mobile cafes compete for the attention of guests and offer the best dishes in the surrounding area.
Try local specialties: Kosyu stewed chicken giblets, Kosyu Fujizakura pork soup, Fujinomiya yakisoba and Yoshida udon with horse meat. You can also find amazing sweets here, including Fuji yama taiyaki and malasadas Hawaiian donuts. There is even a halal menu with Indian curry and naan wheat tortilla at the festival.
A world of bright colors
You will be mesmerized by walking through fields of various pink and purple hues, against the backdrop of Mount Fuji towering above the horizon. On a clear day, the blue sky and lush greenery of the trees envelop an extensive carpet of purple, pink and white flowers, creating a sight worth visiting.
