Embankment is the name of a district in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. It is located on the west bank of the Saigon River and covers the west of District 5 and part of District 6 in Ho Chi Minh City. It is the largest Chinese settlement in Ho Chi Minh City, and many attractions here are temples with Chinese style. Although the street looks a bit old, it is very lively. Signboards with Chinese characters can be seen everywhere on the embankment. There are Chinese shops, gourmet restaurants, and cafes on the streets. The embankment attracts tourists mainly because of the many Chinese restaurants with north and south flavors and the Binh Tay market (ChoBinhTay) comparable to the Ben Thanh market. There are many temples worth visiting on the embankment. Most of them have a long history and a century-old Guanyin Temple. At the beginning of its establishment, it was dedicated to the Holy Mother of Heaven, and later it was dedicated to Guanyin Bodhisattva.
