Photos of Hexia Ancient Town

Hexia Ancient Town is located in the northwest corner of Huai'an District, Huai'an City, Jiangsu Province, at the mouth of Gumokou where the ancient Hangou enters Huai'an. Historical celebrities such as the heroine Liang Hongyu and the great writer Wu Chengen were born here. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, there were 67 Jinshi, 123 Juren, and 12 Hanlin here. It is known as the "Hometown of Jinshi" and has a very profound cultural heritage. Hexia has five major characteristics: cultural center, military center, salt business center, traditional Chinese medicine center (the birthplace of Shanyang medicine), and food center (the birthplace of Huaiyang cuisine).
