Dongshan Academy is one of the oldest academies in Meizhou, founded by Wang Zhefu in the eleventh year of Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty (1746). Dongshan Academy is a building structure with "three entrances and two horizontals". It absorbs the fresh water of Zhou Stream in the front, and the graceful beauty of Dongshan Mountain in the back, and is adjacent to the glory of Zhuangyuan Bridge. From the ancient academy to the current Dongshan Middle School, it has been in the same line, and the songs are endless. It is a microcosm of the history of education development in Meizhou.
